Have you got the inside track? Poor appointment in my opinion. Not what a club embroiled in a relegation battle needs.

Well that's just what everyone said about Pochettino taking over at Saints, or that old wrinkly bastard at Leicester.

Sometimes it works well. This guy certainly seems to have quality in management. It's far better than I feared it could have been and I think I'd prefer him to Chris Coleman or any of the other names mentioned pre season excluding martinez, who is obviously well out of reach.

This Silva chap has a quite impressive, albeit short, managerial CV. Just some strange and abrupt exits from clubs.

One of the best win ratios in European football although in Portuguese and Greek football .. took a small club in the Portuguese league from the 2nd tier up and then perform well, did a decent job at sporting Lisbon then did very well at Olympiacos managed 17 wins on the bounce a record for them . -also Managed them in champions league as well

Agreed. Got Estoril promoted and lead them straight into a 5th place finish and european qualification in their first top flight season. Got them to fourth in his last season there. Took Sporting to 3rd place and won the domestic cup. Went to Olympiakos where he set not just a club record but a european record for consectutive domestic wins and won the league with 6 games remaining.

I think it's quite an exciting appointment to be honest.

Taking Sporting Lisbon to third in a league of three is nothing great.
