This is true, Remain were poor in this instance.
However, the onus is also on the electorate to do its own research if it's going to vote on such a major issue. EU funding in Wales was hardly a big secret.
This comes back to my belief that referenda are just a plain bad idea. Too few people have any real clue about the causes and effects of their decision.
Which is why I didn't vote. I get the whole democracy thing, but such a huge decision that has massive impact should be made by people who have an idea what's going on. I'd imagine at least half the people voting didn't really know the ins and outs of what each outcome really meant (and not just all the leave voters before someone chimes up).
I have no interest in politics and although probably should have taken more an interest, when you're being told the same thing by both sides it's hard unless you have real interest and knowledge to make an informed choice.
