Can we stop all the personal **** please? I have known Smug as a poster for, I guess, about 9 or 10 years now. Both on here and on the old BBC 606 site. Nobody says we have to "idolize" each other and my knowing Smug for that long doesn't put him above anybody else, as far as I am concerned. But at least I can say that he takes this site for what it is. A place where a small number of Sunderland fans can have a natter about SAFC. Nothing more; nothing less. It's not real life, we don't know much about each other and anyone who thinks we have to justify ourselves or what we post is taking things too seriously.

Don't post on here very often,am mainly,as smug puts it a"voyeur",but would like to say,without upsetting anyone,that Sids post (348) sums up my whole attitude towards this board. Its just a sounding board for people's opinion's. Some we agree with,some we don't. Judging from the posts people put on I've probably seen most of you whilst having a pre-match pint in either the colliery or the half way house,but obviously could'nt put a face to the user tags. I love the banter that go'es on and the knowledge of some posters is second too none. But ....... WOULD'NT IT BE GREAT IF JUST ONCE,JUST FOR A WHILE,we could all just get along and celebrate the fact that after one of the worst seasons I can remember for a long time,we are at least still there and the club looks as if we might,just might, have a manager who can give us a chance of cementing ourselves as a decent premiership club with something to look forward too.

If you look at the amount of tags on the whole of the first page, you may see that there are very few.
