Really? That 2nd goal was a definite foul. He's backing into the keeper, no attempt to play the ball. Obstruction at the very least. Yes Green flapped like a girl in traditional manner but it's still a foul nevertheless. I suspect any team who conceded a goal like that would feel hard done by. My feeling is West Brom only really got going after the second goal and should have been out of sight by the time we got our first. However, that second goal changed the complexion of the game completely. Again, not saying we're better than we are, we're patently not good enough at the mo but actually for me a draw would have been a fairer result yesterday. Rangers should really be aspiring to the West Brom model though, both on and off the pitch I think.
admittedly, when i first saw it we really expected the whistle to go and despite celebrating were confused as anyone else in the ground. however, on seeing it again green just has to do better. he has to hold his ground or at least punch it away. scooping it into your own net is doing no favours. yes ive seen fouls given for less, but then you could argue why are fouls never given for attackers when defenders have their arms wrapped around them in the area? we see that countless times. the game has to be a bit tougher for me, let physical strength play a part. if green has been pushed over, then yes, no question, it is a foul. there has to be some consistency really. i see your point about us taking a while to get going. ive seen us 5 times away from home this season and i can tell you we look nervous, reluctant to push forward and yesterday was no different. a moment of magic and a howler gave us the goals yesterday and that says it all. we dont score that many away from home and lukaku had numerous chances to put the game to bed which he didnt take, was exactly the same at newcastle and wigan. yeah i think we have it right, jeremy peace is a financially prudent guy who doesnt spend big on players nor wages. we have very little debt and look for cheap gems abroad, such as mulumbu and yacob, who cost very little but have done us wonders.
