Excellent. Just what we needed.goal difference didn't take too much of a hit either in the end. Not pretty by all accounts but we desperately needed this. Not at all convinced by the team selection or the system but it's one more game down and a little bit closer. Phew!

Yeah, bit sad about the Sheff Wed equaliser, but another win, an extra 2 points clear of 3rd, and we are almost there ! Just need a win at Udd on Saturday and then that would likely be it - job done, game over !

BWP MOM for me. Lived on scraps, chased everything, made a thorough nuisance of himself, had one chance and scored. What more could you ask of a striker?

We did play better in the 2nd half, actually passing through midfield. First half was a joke again, but like I say much better in the second. For me, Hollands is not the player most rate him as.

3-0 was a flattering scoreline for us and there really was nothing in this game. It could quite easily of been 0-0 in my eyes.

IMO Danny N'guessen goal was a total fluke but ohhh well you get the luck when your near the top i guess. Hopefully this win will give us some confidence back and we can go to Hudders on Saturday and get a result!

Shocked by all the negativity on here!

    Personally I found:
    A) the midfield was actually constantly used throughout the game
    B) we hardly played hoof ball - there were long balls to BWP but that's because the Yeovil defence was struggling to deal with them.
    C) Danny Hollands had a fantastic game
    D) we were worthy winners, Yeovil were played off of the park.

One of the very few negative points for me (and its a very silly one) was CP only doing the tunnel 'jump' once. I know its only a bit of fun, and perhaps he wants to come across as being more mature and serious as a manager, but its great to have that fan-manager bond, and the young fans love it.

Back from game and heres my view on key events and player ratings.

Hamer - 6 - One kick which was fluffed and given straight to opposing player but luckily nothing came of it, otherwise it could have been the end for Hamer. Also, 1 brilliant kick to unleash Wiggins down the left. Other than that average nothing spectacular, but a clean sheet is a clean sheet.
Solly - 8 - What more can we say about Chris Solly that we don't already know? Although, was quite surprised to see him taking corners, they weren't brilliant but definitely not the worst I've seen down the Valley in recent years.
Cort - 7 - Solid, seemed to mop up everything and was cool on the ball and played it out defence.
Morrison - 6 - Cort seemed to have the more work to do, but no mistakes for Morrison, does seem to choose not to pass it to Hamer as much now though.
Wiggins - 7 - Assist and good running down the left hand side. Nothing to note defencively.
Wagstaff - 7 - Rushed around, real work horse. One moment of brilliance preventing the free kick, but then just waste the opportunity when we had a 3 v 1 situation, although, how many other players would have rushed to claim the ball rather than just let it go out for a throw in?
Hollands - 8 (MOTM) - Though Hollands had a great game especially compared to what we've seen from him recently. Probably should have scored from the corner, but can't argue as we got the result.
Russell - 7 - Looks good, well taken goal. He should be the player to partner either Stephens or Hollands in the centre of the park as he is very physical.
N'Guessan - 7 - Skillful, great shot to score (it was a shot ;) ) other than that nothing else to say, tracked back well though.
Kermorgant - 7 - Won many headers as per usual, tracked back and assisted for BWP
BWP - 7 - Well taken goal, tireless running.

At half-time I'd have taken 1-0 final score as we hadn't played well, they closed down our defense who kept playing it long because they had no other option. However the second half was a different story, we passed the ball around well, scored two excellent goals and seemed to get our confidence back so I left feeling pretty pleased. N'Guessan doesn't look like a winger to me, and when Green replaced him we saw that he and Waggy can play together. When Russell started to get forward he looked dangerous and took his goal well. First half we missed Stephens since we had no-one who would put his foot on the ball, but confidence is a strange thing!

Have to agree with CarrianCarcuss. If anything had come of that fluffed kick from Hamer it truly would have been curtains from him. There was at least one other occassion when his distribution led to the bench gesticulating at him to get his head in the right place. Other than that none of the players had a really outstanding game, and a couple of them had a slightly poorer game than we are used to (Kermo and Wiggins looked a little fatigued). N'Guessan had a good debut but his recent lack of playing 90 minutes at league level showed and he was substituted rightly in the second half when flagging. What was good to see and something not seen for a while was the interchange with Waggy by N'G, the seemless swap of sides and back again posing different problems to the Yeovil. I seem to remember Waggy doing that at the end of last season with Harriot and it paying dividends. Cort grew into the game and against a side that was at least two inches taller and several kilos heavier than the rest of our squad really reinforced the backline.
BWP and Solly really worked there socks off and the presence of Russell in midfield meant that we started to play some balls through the centre. Surprised at the choice of captain onthe night, thought it might have gone to Morro (who did little wrong all night), but guess that his previous impatience with Hamer (continued last night) , may have counted against him in the role.

A satisfying and relieved night for me because although we were frequently out muscled we showed that we do have the skill in a side to play well and that the league position doesn't lie. On to what may be the toughest match of the season in much better shape than after Col u and Notts C. Credit must go to CP and his team for addressing the issues.

We grew in confidence as the game went on- and we hopefully take it in to the next game.

First half was a bit disjointed, but we actually tried to use the ball instead of the usual hoof to kermo. The defence played higher up and reduced Yeovil to long range chances (none that really threatened IMO).

Wiggins and solly again were the main attacking threat. Wagstaff had another good game though.

Agree with FHB about BWP being MOM (my favourite point).

N'Guessen had a good debut. Not just the goal, but comfortable on the ball and happy to help out. Get him in some dangerous arrears and he can do some damage.

    Impressed by Russell.

    On to Huddersfield now.

Sounds like N'Guessan is not good enough for us but too good for you!

Maybe Palace will come in for him!

Before that kick, Hamer did a throw out to Russell (who had two Cidermen on him) who was forced to play a hospital ball to Solly..... Chris went mental on the sideline at him! I've never seen Chris react that way before.

    Nice summing up, Carrian. <ok>

I'd probably agree with most of your scoring as well, although I thought Hollands had a particularly poor first half and quite frankly looks in need of a rest. 6/10

Certainly can't fault Wagstaff in terms of challenging and harrying but whatever creativity and goal instinct he had seems to have deserted him. 5/10

That's the best game I've seen Russell play and IMO he was the outstanding midfielder.

Cort carried on the excellent work from when I saw him last against Brentford and he was immense in the second half. 8/10

N'Guessan looked overweight and far from match fit but ran till he dropped - excellent debut.

The weak link again was Hamer, and more worryingly Yeovil knew it as well. They sussed him about 15 minutes in and started shooting on sight. if the forward had closed that kick down a fraction later, I think that's the last we would have seen of him for a long while. he took an age to distribute and was probably the last player on the pitch to spot Wiggins tremendous break down the left. When he began to lokk to waste time in the second half, I wondered if anyone had told him the Blades score... Good instinctive save from N'Gala Pie though. 5/10

Yeovil were as difficult as always and played some lovely stuff in the middle of the park where they got way too much room.

    Referee - dismal.

Had a good time last night for the first time in a while - back on track and ready for Udders on Saturday.

Right, back on the road to Tewkes.

    I love N'Gala pie, Tewks.

Russell, Waggy and Solly were the best for me tonight. Cort had a good game, too, but needs to curb his shooting antics.

Kermit's flick-on for the third goal was pure class.

A decent performance from the lads. Not great, but pleasing all the same.
