Just saw him mentioned by Smudger in another thread and thought I'd make a thread on this. Can somebody educate me a bit on this guy? He's been absent for so long that I can barely even remember what he looks like without a Google search.

- Is he just out on loan still or did we sell him?

- Do we expect to see him back ever?

- Is the main reason he didn't play because of the 'x number of plays = pay more money' clause or is he just really ****?

- Do you think he will ever play for us again?

I know pretty much nothing about him whatsoever so anything you know please chip in. I don't think I can even remember him playing for us except for a cameo in the Villa 6-0 mauling last season.
 
I don't think he's particularly great, but I believe that if we play him one more time, we have to pay a substantial fee to his previous club.

The management obviously don't think that he's worth paying for, so they haven't bothered.

He is back on loan at Deportivo. When he came he wasn't the choice of our manager (Keegan) and he also got injured until xmas time (I think it was a groin injury). By that time Kinnear was there and, unsurprisingly, he was homesick and unsettled. Since then he has been on loan at Racing Santander for 18 months and now he is in his second season long loan at Depor. There is no intention on his or our part to bring him back. He is seeing out his 40k contract as he ain't gonna get better anywhere else.
 
- Is he just out on loan still or did we sell him?
Loan, we have repeatedly tried to sell him, unsuccessfully. We are just loaning him out every year until his contract runs out, as we at least save money on wages.

- Do we expect to see him back ever?
Next season, then we will almost certainly loan him out for the last time (deal expires in 2013)

- Is the main reason he didn't play because of the 'x number of plays = pay more money' clause or is he just really ****?
Both, but we wont even give him a chance because the management/board have decided it isnt worth the extra million or whatever just to see if he's any good.

- Do you think he will ever play for us again?
No, and if he ever does it will likely be a friendly. Doubt we put a recall clause in his loan as last season we signed Kuqi before thinking about Xisco.

Thanks, spot on. Seems such a horrible waste of money really, did our current scouting team have anything to do with his signing? Or was this a Dennis Wise & Co enforcement?

- Is the main reason he didn't play because of the 'x number of plays = pay more money' clause or is he just really ****? No manager has seen the merits of playing him. I'm sure if he was good enough then the club would have no qualms about paying the extra money.

- Do you think he will ever play for us again? Nope.

Wasnt that the famous youtube transfer? Where Keegan insisted he had to scout the player but Wise said here's a compilation video of him <laugh>
 
find it funny whenever there is a player we are linked with or we recommend the first thing we do is put up the youtube compilation and drool i bet that's what wise did don't blame him for walking
it could be worse it could have been the player souness got then put him on as sub then subbed him 10 mins later <doh>
