The US Senate have backed Trump so I expect things to accelerate quickly, could be the nod he has been waiting for to escalate even further.
Meanwhile Starmer is pandering to his muslim voters and should have HMS Dragon out of the garage and over to Cyprus sometime next week, the one plane we have sent to bring people home has no pilot because hes over his flying hours.
Skynews are reporting that our military are embarrassed that they dont have the ability to protect Cyprus.
We are looking weaker and weaker by the day.

Looking at the news conference, just now, that info seems out of date tbf.

Come on Smug. You know he’s sueing the BBC for false reporting on that. The BBCs subterfuge was even reported over here. It was Capitol Hill as well btw ;)

I watched it live mate, Trump supporters attacked the place and rampaged through the offices, etc.

Are you saying the BBC staged it all?

It’s got nothing to with Muslims. It’s just common sense. It’s not our war.

If a Labour PM sides with US he is a war monger if a Labour PM stays out of it it’s Muslims. :-) This PM has judged the mood pretty right imho.

Shame the orange baby wasn’t up for the fight in helping the Ukrainians. Perhaps the Ayatollah didn’t have any videos

Like you I also watched it. The speech that he gave and that was broadcast by the BBC as fact were two speeches hours apart and edited to look like one. They made it look like he incited them to storm the Capitol, when he didn’t.
I’m not saying that what the mob did was right. Of course it wasn’t. Lives were lost and it was a tragedy that it happened. I’m also not saying that he was right in saying that the election was stolen. It wasn’t.
But the BBC, that bastion of truth and honest journalism blatantly misrepresented what he said. They even issued their own apology.

I'd say he definitely did, so I'll leave it there.

If he definitely did then why did they apologise?

They apologised for a certain aspect.

Other news agencies reported more accurately and didn’t have to apologise.

The way he described the rioters, afterwards, was disgraceful …

… as a serving police officer I’d have thought your sympathies lay with them tbh.

If you’re saying Trump was totally blameless I’d have to disagree.

Yes it was.
Yes they do
No I’m not

He thinks everybody should say yes without question. The Epstein files and his sexual assault charges are evidence. He's a danger to everyone

How dare someone, who's parents paid for him to avoid military duty, question the courage of our troops ...

... I'd slap his face if he said that to me.

It’s a worry…

Bear with me on this please;

I didn’t, and still don’t understand distancing ourselves from our nearest neighbours in Europe.

England first is the mantra, followed by Anti immigrant (foreigner) riots just over year ago, which caught me by surprise. Hey Brexit!!

I was also caught by surprise by a comment I saw on Facebook a year ir so ago:

Charlie Kirk “he was a good man, a Christian man’

I had no idea who this American person was but knew his assination as abhorrent ; but why the religious reference?

Recently I’ve seen men carrying huge crucifixes on Tommy ten names/ Reform demonstrations.

So the crucifix is being openly used - why is that I wonder?

Add onto the mix this fella, who reliable sources state that his tattoos are the words chanted by Crusaders in the 1300s.

Pete Hegseth (US Secretary of Defence)

In short, I think it’s caused by the same cause of death and suffering as always- religion, and back to 1300 we go……

Trump says he must be involved in selecting Iran’s next leader

US President Donald Trump has said he believes he should be personally involved in selecting Iran’s next leader following the death of the country’s supreme leader.

In an interview with Axios, Trump said Iran was “wasting its time” if it tried to appoint a successor without US involvement.

He acknowledged that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the assassinated Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, is widely seen as the most likely successor, but said he would not accept that outcome.

“Khamenei’s son is a lightweight,” Trump said. “I have to be involved in the appointment.”

Trump added that he would reject any new Iranian leader who continued the policies of the previous leadership, warning that doing so would risk renewed conflict with the United States “in five years”.

“Khamenei’s son is unacceptable to me. We want someone that will bring harmony and peace to Iran”, he said.
