These first months of this War have shown us quite a lot about Russia Military Capabilities.

And so far, they have failed to impress.

They outnumber and outgun the Ukrainians massivley on the ground and have total superiority in the air.
Despite this they have failed to take key targets.

In fact it looks like a repeat of their misguided attempt to conquer Afghanistan.

And IF by some misguided chance Russia decides to mount the same sort of invasion against, particularly, Sweden, then the majortity of the European Nations are going to have to join in, whether or not these two have joined Nato.
Both are EU Countries, and while this is not a Military organisation, it does mean strong ties and one flag.
The level of support, for example in airpower, will make the Military help, grudgingly given to Ukraine look petty.
And there will be Naval support too.
The Russian Navy is said to be rather dilapidated, for the most part.

I suspect that this announcement is for 'home consumption'.

They haven't established air superiority.

They haven't established air superiority.

I was trying to keep it short, and you are quite right, but only up to a point.

Russia has Air Superiority over much of Ukraine.
The Ukraine Air Force is vastly outnumbered and outgunned, but their commanders are making the very best use possible of this scarce resourse. They are concentrating their aircraft where they can be most effective.
Sadly though, this leaves vast swathes of the Country open to Air attack.

The Ukraine President, from the early days has asked repeatedly that NATO establishes a 'No Fly Zone' over his country.
Fearing, (presumabley), that this might lead to direct confrontation with Russia, this has been refused.

I SUSPECT that NATO and psrticularly The Nordic countries along with The USofA and GB would be prepared to offer Air Support to Sweden, and by implication Finland.

Belarus President claiming that the atrocities at Bucha were carried out by British Special Ops. He’s an absolute prick him like, Belarus is like the little kid who sides with the big bully and hides behind him. As I’ve said previously, Belarus by themselves couldn’t take Fellgate Estate.

Air Dominance yes, but not air superiority. The S-300 and Sky Sabre air defence systems plus the many Stinger misles deny them superiority (otherwise they would be using helicopters a lot more).

Can the sky watchers on here explain the air raid / practice run on Sunderland last night.

That F-15 shot over Roker last night, was loud as owt! Followed it on Flightradar24 and it was over Scarborough about 10 minutes later.

Pretty annoying as it took me 2.5 hours to drive home from Scarborough earlier in the day. He could have given me a lift. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Seemingly it flew off track, it certainly was loud, low and fast.
