Not a particularly good start for Trump, couple of days into the war and they are blowing their own planes out of the sky.

We won't know for quite a while what, if any, pressure Trump applied to Starmer. I suspect that sabre rattling involving 'tariffs' may have been used. Yes, these have been struck down by the US Supreme Court but they issued no diktat about making automatic refunds and the orange blimp is forcing each company to sue the US Revenue Service for repayment on each transaction.
No doubt UK companies would find import agent repayments in three years time would be a great comfort to their appointed administrators!

My Mam is going on holiday there next month. She got stranded in Cyprus when covid kicked off. The tour operator offered her an earlier flight home and despite me urging her to come home, she decided to stay as it "seemed a lot of fuss about nothing." Then she was told the hotel was closing in a few days so she needed to leave and her flight home was cancelled. She ended up paying a ridiculous amount of money for a flight to London, then had to cross London with her suitcase and get a train back up here. I was worried sick about her. Don't want to go through that again!
