Where's my nightly lecture?

I look at it like this, just the mere fact you are considering this, means to me personally, my lectures were worth while no matter how small a way that may be - but the main thing is, none of that really matters, you have to want to do it for yourself :)

sponsor a comm?

it's no secret i like a beer or 3. but seen an ad today, and just thought, oh could i really do that?

i'm not gonna lie, just doing it of my own back, i would probably fail..but if there was a motive, i'd give it my best shot.....it may destroy me like.

I know you can do it, put me down for a £1 for each day in October you do

but it won't be easy....

It won't be with that attitude <whistle>

Once you get a good few days or so behind you and you both have something to lose, as well as begin to feel the benefits, it will be easier than you think.

If the whole month does sound difficult and a bit overwhelming then use the one day at a time mantra:

Say to yourself on the morning of the 1st: "I'm not going to drink today, I might tomorrow but I'm definitely not going to today".

Get that done and then say the same thing to yourself the next morning, and repeat. You'll be a week in before you know it <ok>

but it won't be easy....

you can do it Com, and who knows where it will take you

I haven’t had a drink for nearly 20 years after having had a health scare that wasn’t drink related - gave up booze & ***s at same time

And i maybe many a thing, but a liar ain't one...

Seems a decent response so far, if there is a bit more, i will do it....And i really don't need people telling me, it'll be easy....Cos it wont be.

Mate, i'm 52, and had a life revolving around booze.

I got in a ding dong over you today with blue ink man, he called you my mate. I tore him off a strip and reminded him of his manners.

Oh btw, that means you are now banned from the Sunderland board, but only because he said please. <laugh>

this is gonna sound daft, but i'm more worried about the reverse happening...

i'm sure after a week or so, i'll be fine....just keep drinking juice, or water.

I'd probably find it easier<laugh> to pack the tabs in

Bung me down for a score too. <ok>

You can do this mate. Like Libby said, one day at a time. The buzz you’ll get from completing each day will motivate you to keep going.
