I'm broadly pro-trans rights but this case is beyond farce. I think the best solution is probably that you get tried as / go to prison for whichever gender you identified as at the point you committed the crime.

I think most people are. People should be allowed to live their lives the way they want - as long as their way of life doesn't infringe in a negative way on how others live their lives.

Why not offer this person the opportunity to complete their transition before being put in a women's prison. How does tomorrow at half nine sound?

I see your logic, BUT, 'the wheels of justice grind exceedingly slow', and it can take a considerable time between a crime being committed, the guilty party being apprehended, then a court appearance.

I would like to think that each case should be judged on it's merits, but since it seems that Politicians, Lawyers and Activists with an agenda are all going to want to stick their oar in. that may not work.

I wonder why The Scottish Lady got herself embroiled in this mess.
Scotland has more than it's fair share of Members of Christian faiths who will no doubt regard the whole topic as a sin.
On the bright side though she is on the back foot with this and going into reverse now, and her economic woes are bubbling up to the surface.

She's chosen it as a wedge issue with the presumption nobody would dare say anything for fear of being cancelled in the current climate.

The problem with this is that, following the same logic, criminals born as women should go to a women's prison... So what if you have a trans person who's been on testosterone since age 13 and is 6'0 and built like a brick ****house? It would cause carnage in a women's prison

I’ve not followed all this too closely but my gut reaction is that if you have a penis you’re not a woman and if you have a vagina you’re not a man. Some countries already have 4 or 5 genders. My feeling is that we need more words defining particular genders.
Back in my youth there were two types of sexuality, normal straight people and abnormal perverted benders. How times have changed! Now I hear that there are up to 60 types of sexuality. I think the same thing will happen with gender. We need names for trans people that will give them peace and dignity.
Homosexuals grabbed the word « gay » and that kick started the movement to acceptance and equality for them.
We need sonething similar for trans and non binary people.

Whatever they like to pronounce, it is a matter of simple biological facts to state that a woman cannot have a penis, a man cannot have a cervix, they cannot be each other, and that there are two sexes, with occasionally two of the same being attracted strongly to each other.

The rest is all confection.

But we can now look and see the disgraceful sight of all these types openly encouraging young people, mostly girls, to go through irreversible changes when they are still children.

It is appalling and all done on a political stance. They should hang their heads in shame into eternity for the harm they have done and are doing. A person's sex is not a fashion, or " assigned" . It is what we are born with, and everyone knows it.

There's been some horrendous trends which have seriously affected young people and pushed them to do things they defend to the death at the time but bitterly regret later. Without the encouragement of 'Celebrities' would young girls ever have breast/lip/cheek/bum/whatever implants.

The trends, in more innocent times, were fashion, music, hair, etc. All things that made teenagers feel radical and rebellious at the time but that they could ditch, or keep for leisure time, while they started to find jobs, etc.

Having your genitals removed is insane and liable to cause more psychological harm than good imo.
