let's ban alcohol everywhere
seems to make for more pleasent enviroments

Yes, I am sure we would all love to live in a more pleasant environment like Afghanistan, Iran Saudi Arabia…
Persecute LGBTQ+ and it would be even better .I suppose. Restrict women to onl going anywhere with a male guardian and it would be even better, would it? All we need are amputations, stoning, beheading and mass hangings from cranes and it will be like heaven on earth for you.

These mass hangings from cranes, where does it say in the Koran to hang offenders from cranes. They couldn't do that before cranes were invented so it just shows it's for sadistic reasons.
At least the Western World made sure their necks snapped to make it quick, although hanging the wrong person sometimes.

Only Muslim countries ban alcohol everywhere. You cannot cherry pick the things they do saying some make for a better environment and ignore the others. Qatar is a safe place because punishments are harsher, even for minor offences like littering or swearing (that would be interesting here). Our hand wringing liberals who blame society for everything and have more time for the perpetrators than the victims would never stand for it.

Doesn’t say in the Koran that you can’t sell alcohol. Or handle bottles of it, which some working in supermarkets or loading pallets say the cannot do. Doesn’t mention women covering their faces either. Cultural reasons for power over others.

No thanks, I enjoy a pleasant atmosphere in pubs when I go out, and enjoy a drink before City matches, and also catching up with friends and putting the world to rights. I can handle alcohol, and see no reason whatsoever why I should be penalized for those that can't. :emoticon-0100-smile

Abridged version, get stuffed.

spot on

however people who commit violence and crime related to use of alcohol should be banned for 10 years from being able to consume it

Alcohol isn't banned in most Muslim countries, most have no restrictions at all and even Qatar doesn't have a total alcohol ban, it's just restricted to certain hotels and bars (through the locals can obviously get in a lot of bother if they get pissed).

I said it was only Muslim countries which ban alcohol everywhere, which was what Brady was calling for, I didn’t say all Muslim countries do.

I know you didn't say that, I was just pointing out that though drinking alcohol is generally frowned upon in Muslim countries, there's barely any countries that actually try and ban it.

I'd go for that, but only if it's for a second offence. Second chance waffle. :emoticon-0100-smile

What about when they are drugged up? Or if they commit violence and crime when stone cold sober?

Have you read it?
I doubt many have even read the old testament. There's some pretty horrendous things in there. Thankfully Christians pick & choose which bits to follow and which bits to ignore. Still, maybe best to take a shield with you if you shop or work on a Sunday (or should be Saturday according to some of them).

Precicsely. Everything in the Koran is set in stone and cannot be altered.in the early years Muslims were at the forefront of mathematics, medicines and other things then the hardliners took over and people had still to carry on as if it were the 7h century (ours, theirs was the first century to them). Oh can’t ignore the Koran like can the bible. Or become an atheist, convert to another religion or marry someone of another faith if you don’t want ostracising or worse.

He lists places with little football or drinking culture, and the ones that made the trip from the west will be the more affluent.

It reads like more sanitation of the game by men in suits with no real understanding of the soul of the game.
Just excited to be lazy and not have to travel much between venues

(I assume…obviously I haven’t actually listened to him!)
