Not sure about Infantino, though I had to chuckle to myself when I heard Blatter say: "Qatar should never have won the world cup bid."
Perhaps he'd like to explain where his bank balance came from!! He's got more front than Brighton and Brid combined.
You would think Blatter with his overlord influence might of just said “ hang on lads this may not be a good idea” at the time.

REFEREES could be ordered to award yellow cards to any players who copy the hand cupped over the mouth gesture German players made in their team photo ahead of their 2-1 defeat to Japan on Wednesday, a source has claimed.

It is said that FIFA president Gianni Infantino has promised to step in over the controversial gesture after officials from the host nation complained to him directly about the controversial gesture, suggesting it could be in breach of their law.

The law, Article 136 bis issued by Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, authorizes the imprisonment of “anyone who broadcasts, publishes, or republishes false or biased rumours, statements, or news, or inflammatory propaganda, domestically or abroad, with the intent to harm national interests, stir up public opinion, or infringe on the social system or the public system of the state” can be punished by a fine of 100,000 riyals and up to 5 years in prison.

That’s absolutely insane. Banning a gesture like this is just as political as letting it go.

FIFA can’t have their cake and eat it, either they are for equality or they aren’t. If they aren’t they have to ban every outreach and equality scheme around the world.

It isn’t true. Lifted off social media without looking at the source or comments.

If you say it was a bit naughty of a Muslim to blow up a shopping centre full of families you will get accused of .Islamophobia.
Why would you need to quote their religion when describing something they have done? How come the headline writers did not describe Fred and Rose West as 'Christian couple who murdered girls and bury them under the patio'.

For a Country with so many people who only celebrate religion for a couple of days off in late December its odd that so many are experts in determining someones belief just by looking at them.

Extract: Moller also revealed that Denmark were considering leaving FIFA, and were willing to discuss this with all 55 member states of the organisation.
“It is not a decision that has been made now. We have been clear about this for a long time. We have been discussing it in the Nordic region since August,” he said.

So, it is not actually about the armbands. As is often the case, you need to read the full article rather than just the click bait headline.

Fair play to Denmark.

However, I agree with FIFA over the armbands. There are many things they have got seriously wrong but this is not one of them. You simply can't have any country , or even groups of countries, deciding what emblems, slogans, protests, etc they are going to show each time they play. That would risk opening a real pandoras box. Just play football.

I never really thought it was about the armbands, more about how Qatar got the world cup, the corruption that has clearly gone on in FIFA, and this situation whereby Infantino seems to have curried favour with most of the lesser countries to vote for him remaining in power. The whole system in FIFA, which Havelange started and Blatter continued, which Infantino still keeps in place, is run to allow individuals to personally gain and take advantage of its way of working.

yeah I know, and agree.
I only mention the armbands as that's what one or two comments after mentioned, and because the headline could be taken as implying armbands was the driving issue.

Perhaps because time and again such atrocities are explicitly done against the West in the name of Islam?
As far as I know, Fred & Rose West didn't murder in the name of God / Christianity.

Because Rose and Fred West weren’t doing it in the name of Christianity shouting God Is Great! whilst they did it.
Why do you think the Muslims who blow up people do it? In the name of Seventh Day Adventists or Baptists. Christ on a bike!

No. After the farce that was Blatter’s corrupt presidency, there were hopes Infantino would bring a new era of transparency. Naive hopes because he’s just as corrupt as Blatter.

If UEFA nations and the major footballing powers in South America broke away from FIFA, the whole organisation would be a shell of its former self. The World Cup would just be reduced to African Cup of Nations Mark II + the Middle East + nations who are too **** to qualify normally like India and China.and Scotland
