I can see why people would want Sterling out because he's been clueless in front of goal but I'd leave him in. For one thing don't change a winning team and for another attack is the best form of defence and he's been buzzing around all game giving them something to deal with.

No instinct on goal but causes defences a **** loads of problems. Pulls them all over the place.

Surely you can't change the team that's got you to a world cup semi?

Plenty of goals for City. Reckon he's just too desperate.

Caused Sweden so many problems, that, as you said, we can't possibly drop him.

A bit too late to drop him now, and even if we did we would probably get Vardy in, as with Ali and Lindgard all three are lucky to be part of a very promising team, but Ali came good to-day and all we need is the two jessies up front to join the two Harrys and of course the two JORDANS and we may just win the WORLD CUP. :emoticon-0169-dance

Thought Lingard has played well so far. Quieter today that other games but still a positive influence.

Two Jordan's have been immense though

Great team effort from the lads. Got to hand it to Garreth Southgate, who's doing a fantastic job as England manager.

Individual player selection will always divide opinion, but it seems to be working, despite the limitations of one or two players.

Now we have Wednesday's semi final to look forward to :1980_boogie_down: so let's all enjoy this evening's match. I'm going for a Russian win

They look like a team that could go all the way. Not the hottest team in the tournament in attack but very solid and settled and they look like winners.
Could’ve ended your post there!! Great players need a team around them. A good team will beat a team full of great individuals any day. Not that Sweden were great!!

Honestly thought Alli was poor today but he scored. Harry Kane was almost anonymous too but I wouldn’t drop him either!!

There’s only one change I would think about making and that’s rashford for sterling. But even then I’m dubious as, despite Sterling offering little when he’s got the ball to the team, he occupies defences with his running on and off the ball. His crossing and shooting has been dire mind

Croatia are looking the more dangerous, but neither look too big a hurdle for our lads not to reach the final on Wednesday.

Does it annoy anyone else when the camera shows someone with tears pouring down their face, clearly gutted, but when they see themselves on the big screen they instantly switch to "OHMYGAWDIMONTHESCREENOHMYGODOHMYGOD!!!"

Thought Croatia would walk that tonight but their performance gives me hope as on that showing they're not special. We will see.
They have a very strong midfield but as they showed tonight they are suspect at defending corners and free kicks - so we have a great chance of reaching the final :1980_boogie_down:

We'll have to mostly defend all game if we want to drag Croatia down to the level that they played at tonight, but that won't happen. We'll be more open, so will they, so their midfield will be on top imo. Sloppy passes could be punished, and we do that often.
