Very poor, no creativity, poor finishing, poor tactics and poor subs. The whole team lacked any determination to win the game. Tippy tapping across the back four, Needs a massive change in the starting 11.Rashford, Saka, Rogers need to start.

Only the Scots could fail to appreciate the irony of aspiring "to make history" -- by qualifying for the knockout stages of a tournament so set up that it is easier to progress than not!
As one of BBC Scotland's commentators pointed out, Scotland failed to produce a single shot on target in over three hours of football between McGinn's (deflected) goal against Haiti in the first round match, and McTominay's 49th-minute saved header against Brazil in the third. Yet Scotland could still progress to the next round ...........

I can't see how Scotland qualify now, South Africa beating South Korea last night was another nail in their coffin.

They're 7th in the 3rd place rankings, effectively 8th because they get leapfrogged after the Cape Verde vs Saudi Arabia game regardless of result. So Scotland now require 4 of the following results to happen:

Sweden lose to Japan by 4 goals
Croatia lose to Ghana by 3 goals
Algeria lose to Austria by 2 goals
Paraguay lose to Australia by 2 goals
Belgium/Iran lose to New Zealand/Egypt by 4 goals
DR Congo lose or draw with Uzbekistan
Ecuador/Curacao draw/lose to Germany/Ivory coast
Senegal draw/lose to Iraq.

The Ecuador result is the only one I'd be confident of. Algeria, Iran, DR Congo and Senegal really the only other plausible results, and they need 3 of them to happen. Really can't see it.

I must admit I didn't look into that thoroughly.
Just looked on Sky site.
It certainly does look unlikely, but stranger things happen.
I mean Ipswich are in the Premier League <cheers>

Phenomenal performance from Ecuador, thoroughly deserved their win.

As it stands they play England in the knockout stages. I think the only other options for England are Cape Verde or DR Congo, depending on how fixtures play out.

Scotland are done for, South Africa and Ecuador got the worst possible results for Scotland. Just a 7% chance of qualifying now apparently.
