Virgin money weren't even asked if they wanted to extend their deal or pay more, were simply told the contract was cancelled!

I presume that Ashley will have the same sort of deal in place with whoever comes in
someone comes in with a bigger offer and the old sponsor gets kicked out
unless of course they pay all upfront in advance

Looks like this could be the Mike Ashley own goal/car crash that I/Geordie in the Fen mentioned in a previous thread!

Not sure it would do the company [Wonga] any good; if other teams paraphrase 'Wonga' at us fans, then surely this is what the company risks being known as?!

I hope they give that some consideration before signing on the dotted line!

I can't imagine we would end the deal witn Virgin for less money??, however Wonga, pot noodle, tampax it won't matter if the money is right.

When will people grasp that.

I want us to be sponsored by Gazprom, like my 2nd club.

A rep goes to the first person who knows which club that is.

If it is to be wonga theres not much we can really do about it but like many others I won't be buying a top with wonga on it. Not to bothered about the stadium name to be honest, always be St James' Park to me and I've grown use to people trying to wind me up by calling it SDA. Unless its Man U fans I just ask the question "how many fans does your stadium hold" usually shuts them up (Arsenal 60k are sponsored also).

Will not be buying a shirt with that tripe on it if true. Perfect way for people to show disgust - don't buy it. Stadium wise i'm not fussed. It's St James Park to me and always will be plus the City Council won't be sticking up signs pointing the way to anything other than St James.
