It matters because that's how they track viewers. I thought that was obvious.

Do you honestly think they work out how many people are sat in front of the TV in each house? Or do you think they probably take an estimate?
some have TVs that actually see who is watching
and they go round stopping people in the street and ask them what they watched in the last week

These women are at the pinnacle of their sport. There is no point in comparing men and women. They can only compete against themselves.

Just enjoy it for what it is.
Not true. Of course they can compete against men's (and boys) teams. They did, against boys, and lost 7-0!
Not having a go. I really enjoy England Women's games.

But don’t you see what you’re saying?

‘they’re good but they aren’t as good as men’.

What’s the point? Serena Williams gets it. She’s incredible, why do we have to downplay her achievements.

England might win a World Cup. As football fans, why do we have to demean it?

There's that TV charity match every year which has men and women and celebrities and ex professionals
I remember a charity match between ex pros for Everton and Liverpool
John Barnes came on as a substitue and he was substituted off after five minutes
he was just so unfit

what's demeaning about women footballers getting hammered by boys?
the standards are so different
