Ok so we’re pleased we got Sanchez and the Arsenal fans are pleased he’s left them. Everyone’s a winner.
I would have preferred we kept him if he was happy at Arsenal. But recently he's been throwing his toys out the pram. Getting constantly angry with the rest of the team and trying to do everything himself. Up until this season he wasn't like that. So since he wanted out and his form was dropping off, plus his ridiculous wage demands that we couldn't afford. I'm happy enough to get Mkhi in return and see us move for Aubameyang.
Sanchez's head was turned by money - Keown It looked like Alexis Sanchez would go to Man City after he decided he was leaving Arsenal. I felt he was going for the money and he was a bit of a mercenary. For him to go to United, it had to be about the money. I don’t understand why he didn’t go to the best team and Man City are that at the moment. What a fkin moron!! The guy could have stayed until the summer to get even more money.
A rare win win situation for both seller and buyer. United are getting a player who can fill in many attacking roles and Arsenal are getting an experienced midfielder they had originally wanted. Sanchez is costing more in terms of wages but he is so versatile he can cover for a few positions.
Ah the time honoured fallback of the Arsenal fan. "Players don't leave us because we are a mediocre team, they only ever leave us for money " And surely, if he doesn't understand why players won't automatically go to the best team, he doesn't understand how Arsenal manage to sign anyone?
Over oversimplification of their analysis is shocking. Did he ever think about why Mhkitaryan went to Arsenal and then question why he would ever want to leave United for Arsenal based on his stupid logic?
There has been a lot of criticism for Martin Keowns bitter comentary throughout our game with Yeovil last night. He clearly broke the commentators code of remaining impartial. Not in terms of the game itself, but more the bitterness towards Sanchez and us for signing him. Ive noticed on BT Sport before that he clearly has an agenda againstus, but last night he just went overboard. He clearly can't let the rivalry lie that we used to have with Arsenal back in his time as a player. I hope the TV channels give him the boot now, as he's not even a good pundit anyways.
He's right about Sanchez moving for the money. Don't think anyone would disagree with that. He's obviously bitter about it though. And he definitely hasn't let the rivalry go. He's part of that group of players who really hated each other during the Arsenal vs Utd years. Neville has to get credit for putting aside most of his bias when becoming a pundit. Henry is another who although pro Arsenal, talks about other teams in an unbiased way.
City wouldn't pay the 35 million asking price, so he never had the choice anyways. Yeah he's getting well payed, but he could have waited 6 months and got even more money on a free from City. Even if there was a choice, which I don't think there was, is it really that difficult to see a player choosing us over them. This season they are better than us, but next season is a new season, I think we're only a couple of signings away from bridging the gap. We are a bigger club than City, we have way more supporters and we play in a much better stadium, that's not half empty every week. So I really don't see it as that far fetched that a player has to be choosing money to join us over them. We are still by quite someway the biggest club in England.
Mate, if Arsenal had offered the same salary as we did he'd have still left you. Yes, he's being paid well, but he's also joined Manchester United.
that's the spirit, keep telling yourself that, of course you were his first choice, apparently he supported Man u when he was a boy.
Nobody knows who his first choice was, as only we had a bid accepted for him. Yeah he did want to go to City last summer, but we hadn't shown any interest in him at that point, all the interest was from City. You, or anyone else for that matter are just speculating what his first choice was. You do not know anything with any certainty.
Makes him feel better, "yeah Sanchez left us but he didn't go where he really wanted". Not sure how Sanchez wanting anywhere but Arsenal helps his feelings though
