Delap is an interesting one. He looked fairly average on loan in the EFL, but has looked the business for Ipswich; probably their one shining light this season. Looks like an old fashioned No.9 who is strong, has some pace and knows where the goal is. He's 8 years younger than Watkins and would probably cost half of what Sesko would (who is unproven outside of Austria/Germany)
Maybe the Adingra rumour is a lever to move Ipswich on a Clarke deal .3D chess going on with all clubs at this time of year. Would love to see on the inside of all this . Very complicated scenarios for all involved. If Watson doesnt want to be here he has to go, I'm more interested in why ,what got into him ..

Delap will cost £40-50m now. I don’t see how he’s too dissimilar from Havertz if he was to be their 9 to be honest - I know Havertz isn’t a natural 9 like Delap but they’re both similar in terms of how they play, they can hold up the ball, their athleticism and physique etc both like to press and bully defenders but neither are really that clinical. Delap gets to run more because Ipswich are generally a counter attacking team but he wouldn’t get that luxury at Arsenal I think he’d end up just being Havertz 2.0.. Arsenal need a top class goalscorer who’s going to bag 25 goals.
