Fair point, but they were hanging on for the last 20 minutes and should have had a draw.

They aren't a huge force just because they brought in 2 strikers imo

we also hung on against derby

everyone bar Leeds is grinding out results

pull my hair out watching the lads at time but Burnley and Sheffield united fans are doing the exact same

With £3m of guaranteed add-one supposedly still due for Jack Clarke, I’d be seeing if Ipswich would be tempted with a £12m cash offer. Don’t want to lose Watson as I think he’s gonna be some player, but I’m alright with him leaving if SAFC end up stronger for the long term for his leaving.
We probably only cleared 11m once original fee and sell on were taken in to account. Love Clarke but given his lack of games he’s worth a fair bit less. We got 15m “ up front” so I’d offer more like 8m cash plus add ons up to about 12 because we won’t be getting many add ons so far.

Burnley fans are probably bored ****less watching them grind out draws. I couldn't watch it every week no matter if it resulted in promotion.

I have a feeling the back end of the season we will take the handbrake off and put teams to the sword. RLB will have learnt so much from the first half of the season

Regarding Watson or any young player. Are the rules we can only offer a maximum 3 year deal at 17?

Does it mean at 18 we can offer a better longer one? So a 3 year deal at 17, then on their 18th birthday we offer a 5 year deal? Or is that not allowed?

At the time it was suggested that £3m of add-ons were virtually guaranteed in the first year. I doubt we’d get Ipswich to nibble at £8m up top. Guess it would depend on what the sell-on is. Might be another chunk of money that we could ‘forgive’. We’d need something to mitigate the wage drop too, though. All depends on how much Ipswich have given up on him. Would definitely want a permanent if we could do it. Not all that enamoured with a loan if I’m honest. Means the medium term effect is wholly down to our promotion chances this season - and that isn’t an advisable gamble for me.

Yes this is the case, although Watson is 19 in April
