If Clarke is an option, imo, he'll be a different player with different responsibilities. Last time he was here it was just "Pass it to Jack", we're different team now an a million miles away from where we were when he last played for us, be it only last season, I believe even he would get a shock.

I’d really want a route to a permanent return though. Don’t just want JC to fill in for a short time while we keep him warm for a champ run with ipswich next season. I do wonder if the prospect of getting out of all those future payments on a player they’re moving on from is something that they would be amenable to. Need an offer we can’t refuse for Watson though.

I agree, I'm more open to Clarke returning than I was before but still worry we just develop him for Ipswich and our wingers don't get the game time needed
