I always think any deals done on last day look like desperate signings. Just get it done in the first 30 days (32 days). I realise it isn't that straightforward.

I agree with people saying Jobe will go but probably in the summer, seems the natural step for him if we don’t go up.

Would love to think they could hold on to rigg for another year because of his age and if Neil stays hopefully not so much dismantling of the midfield.

The fact we're in negotiations still after rejecting the first offer suggests to me that Watson has indicated he won't sign a new deal. Shame but get the best deal possible and move on.

From the Northern Echo

“Matija Frigan remains a leading option, although an initial round of talks with Belgian club Westerlo failed to result in an agreement over the Croatian.

“Westerlo would be willing to allow Frigan to leave this month if the price was right, but Sunderland’s recruitment team are adamant they will not be overpaying for the 21-year-old.

“Preston’s Emil Riis is another target, with the 26-year-old having struggled to hold down a starting spot with his current club in the first half of the season.

“Riis is out of contract in the summer, meaning Preston could be persuaded to cash in this month if they think there is a good chance of the Danish striker moving on come the end of the season. However, again, Sunderland will not want to pay over the odds for a player who is set to become a free agent in four months’ time.”

I'm gonna be toxic but id be terribly undferwhelmed by friggan and Riis should it come at the expense of watson and/or/maybe jobe

We don't know if we are in negotiations with them, there are rumours that we have rejected a bid that is all so far. The club seem to keep most transfer related things very quiet until things are done

No it won’t.

fans will realise (well some will) that to progress we need to sell
I wouldn’t be selling Jobe this window. We should be able to make signings this window without having to sell anybody. We just got 15m for Clarke last summer

Pete O’Rourke has said we are still in negotiations to see if a deal can be agreed

Marcus Edwards wants to return to England. ✈️

According to @Record_Portugal, Sunderland and Burnley asked for the Leo winger - Sporting is willing to negotiate between €8 and €10M.

Edwards was quoted at €30 million in June 2023, according to Transfermarkt.

Considering Fabrizio said we are in talks insinuates we are willing to sell if we can agree a fee

yeh if I had to put money on it I’d say he’s told us he wants the move to Brighton and now it’s about us agreeing the right fee. Don’t think Brighton are this persistent unless they’ve been given the thumbs up from him
