Maybe that’s the Sunderland tax. Westerlo didn’t value him that highly but when we show an interest they think ‘he must be good’ and don’t want us to get what will later look like a bargain.£12.6m rumoured fee. 5 goals in 31 last season.

I think it’s easy as fans to think because the windows open we must sign 4 players because everyone else is, I’m definitely guilty of it at times, in reality there’s very little we need, anything we bring in falls into the nice addition bracket unless we somehow unearth a superstar who can walk into the 11 like an enzo for example, could we realistically bring in someone better than mundle or Watson in this window? I’m not so surePerhaps supporters should avoid becoming too fixated on things. Perhaps RLB would simply like a ‘versatile forward’ rather than being desperate for one. I don’t think we’re the panic merchants we once were.
We have two strikers who’ve helped make us fourth top scorers, better than Sheff Utd and Burnley. So we’ll either sign someone for the bench or to come in and relegate one or both of them. If we don’t sign a striker it’s not certain Isidor will be injured, he may play the following eighteen games in either case.
Yes, the transfer window creates a frenzy amongst fans but not necessarily the club. More options would be great but we’ve still got top 2 in us without.Perhaps supporters should avoid becoming too fixated on things. Only things I'm hearing/reading this morning:
Joe Anderson is being touted around before the window shuts, he still has another season on his contract so could end up staying, he has done okay for the u21s this season but has almost zero chance of ever playing in the first team again. The player and club think it's best he is moved on.
Harvey Vale is close to sealing a deal with QPR, as has already been said, we were quite interested in the player but it seems Chelsea actually rate the player quite highly and want a large sell-on and incremental payments that take the fee way beyond what Sunderland we're expecting to pay for a player of this profile.
If Isidor was injured and Mayenda struggling, while so close to the top two, we might just throw money at the lad. We’re saying we don’t have the time to bed Samed in so there's no point bringing in someone who’s played much less with only three months left.

Can he play up front? I thought he was a left back. I'm all for a number three who ends up our top scorer. Roy of the rovers stuff.

Getting nervous like
I won’t judge until the window shuts but it’s important that anyone who comes in can offer immediate impact imo

For me it would be worse to lose Jobe than fail to sign someone …
… I honestly thought that was a real possibility so I can’t wait for the window to close.
I would happily see it shut now.For me it would be worse to lose Jobe than fail to sign someone …

Is he high calibre ?I agree, I trust the process with these lot and if they don't do a deal my assumption is that it wasn't worth doing. To be totally honest, with Abdullahi back in training, we have a high calibre forward option available to us, we just need him fully fit and up to speed.
I think we’re one forward short. Ideally someone who can finish and play across the front 3. I like Mayenda up too. He’s the second 9 for me but if one gets an injury which is quite possible we have to have the option to change in a game. Similarly, in the short term we need a more attacking player to swap with Roberts and maybe at this point play the left. I think it could be one player, two in an ideal world but we’re definitely short. On Aouchiche, I’d get rid. Just don’t think he’ll ever be productive, he’s neat but final ball and shot are poor. If we can offload him Ba and Jewi we have some wriggle room squad wise.If Isidor was injured and Mayenda struggling, while so close to the top two, we might just throw money at the lad. Dopamine gang won't love this, but unless we're signing top quality players (Kilicsoy for example) capable of displacing existing players (ie relegating them to the bench), I'm okay with no signings.
