RE Clarke I'm surprised there's not been more interest in him, arguably the top performer in the league last year and out of favour at Ipswich yet been no interest from any league for him. A couple clubs could do with a left winger as well, Us, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Utd etc.
He can only play for us or Ipswich this season.

Can’t play for a third club in the same season, I believe - at least in this country.

We're the only team that can sign him this year, thats why

We booed the young team currently sat in fourth, a few points off the top and only behind parachute payment clubs, off the pitch after a draw on Saturday. I know this post will get most people's backs up but I think we 'deserve' no more or less than most others.
They didn’t get “booed” off the pitch, there was an initial outcry of boos then it stopped as soon as it started. Out of pure reaction to letting a good opportunity go to **** with not long to go. I’m not condoning it but it was hardly booed off of the pitch

Mayenda has only missed 3 chances for me that I’d really want him to score

Blackburn (A), Stoke (A) Stoke (H)

other than that he’s looked pretty composed to me and he already corrected the Blackburn goal against Sheffield United with the same chance

he’s just not very good at heading
I haven't really seen it mentioned but for the Blackburn one, he sprinted the length of the field in the 93rd minute after he'd already shown signs he was blowing out of his arse towards the end of the game - has to be factored in for me.

Remove 'off the pitch' from my post then, I don't think it detracts from my point much.

I'm not sure that's true, If Joe Anderson goes out on loan that would be his third club, probably more examples I can't think of right now as well.

I think there's some Caveat where short term loans can be an exception

Its a FIFA rule. Can play for two clubs only during the European football season.

Fairly natural reaction of pissed off fans in the moment. It’s not nice no, but people vent their anger in different ways. There’s a reason it didn’t last very long either. Was purely pent up frustration from some I’d assume

old bloke infront of me was volleying his chair now that was over the top <laugh>

Fair enough I thought I had seen it had been changed slightly but seems not.

Not sure why it is a rule tbh though surely a max of 3 makes more sense

Regarding Clarke.

Wouldn’t it be strange if Ipswich were relegated, we were promoted and Clarke came to us on loan.

Unlikely I’ll admit but there could be a scenario where a Championship side is loaning us, in the Premier league, a player who can’t even get into their squad but is a regular in ours.

think if anything he will either be sold, at a fraction of price. to another championship club. or a newly promoted team

unless he stays and hes is there for a rebuild in the championship

I can remember a lot off the top of my head, the miss against Cardiff on opening day, the 1v1 miss, the header miss, seen him scupper a shot last game that was a clear chance to strike the ball inside of the box, a chance the other week at home when he got played clean through but took it to his right for whatever reason and fired at the side netting. There's a few more too. He's class, powerful, quick, very good and a lot of potential but that composure currently is too big for us not to address with support this window imo
To be fair. Wilson missed quite a few as well

He's only been registered for us this season. That caveat might have applied to previous seasons, though - it sounds familiar. The only exception I can think of now is if players transfer to a foreign league where seasons overlap with our own.

Ipswich signing Philogene is basically them saying Clarke has no place in the team imo. Same position, younger, bigger fee. I’m just not sure what the point is to be honest he’s a proper winger like Clarke who clearly doesn’t fit their system so I don’t know why Philogene would be different. Their transfer strategy has been a bit bizarre imo but they’ve nailed it the last few seasons so again I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt because I think if they do get relegated they’ll end up selling Delap for £40m+ plus a few others to re-coup some of their losses then as long as they keep the majority of their squad they’ll go straight back up.
Think it'll rest on McKenna staying. Also there's an element of momentum about it. It wouldn't surprise me if any of the relegated teams have a Luton style return. The one you'd bet on would be Southampton - simply because their season has been so demoralising - but it could well be that Ipswich have hollowed out what made them impactful with the sheer turnover of players this summer. Agree about Philogene, though. If Clarke doesn't work I don't see why they'd expect him to be that much better.
