You’d have to think in the worst case scenario we stayed down, Wilson would either stay and score 15 plus, or go and bag a massive profit.

Absolute no brainer for me if we can do it.

Aye we should. Agree with that got a big upside and he will get better next year. I get frustrated at how much he hits the deck but with a years experience he will be better at that.

For the price agreed, it's an absolute bargain.

Misses some chances as well but still only what? 24? As you say, will be even better next season.

Would free up a loan slot as well.

100%. It's a must signing and if that can be arranged now then great. Otherwise, have to assume the deal is watertight for the summer terms.

I'd be unsure if nixon would have any sources close to this deal like

I think this makes sense - if you think of the Cannon stuff, very clear he has an agent link so has some sort of information

He wont be getting it from us, he wont be getting it from Isidor, I would say the most likely scenario is that some other clubs have expressed an interest in him but he has no understanding of the deal in place.

Agree with this mind, think a lot forgot that period, looked like he could give roberts challenge for position....all went wrong when we forced him up top & missed that big chance blazing over the bar....then we tried him on the left & he was really poor but we kept trying it....he just wasnt a good fit out there & kept saying to those around me, swap him over with robwrts & let him have a go back on the right.....im a disappointed as there us a player there & in part negativity of last season has made it not work here
I like Ba and agree he has ability but equally I think everyone was poor and had criticism. Most have come back better so there’s a degree of responsibility for him to take too,
Hopefully he gets back on track but a move is probably his best chance for that.

How water tight are these options to buy deals? Anyone know? I assume agents can still talk to other clubs and agree a deal for Wilson if he turns down our offer? Or are his wages agreed and he is essentially contracted to us if we want him?

Depends really.

If we have pre agreed a fee that’s essentially contracted but player can still decline, can’t see that with Wilson.

It reads like of we go up, we have to pay. If we don’t, it’s still our decision so if that’s case it’s essentially down to Wilson cos club to club wise he’s ’our option’.

Could be that Zenit have asked for extra to do it now but that makes little sense if we hold these options.

Nixon saying Sunderland want to sign Isidor permanently but we can’t agree a fee. He’s an absolute donut man we already have an option to buy <laugh>
It’ll be a different fee for completing now if that’s what we want to do. Might seem odd but it’s essentially a different deal and could be negotiating the “ loan fee” aspect for example.
It’s probably just made up, he’s a good player to create content on, especially having missed the penna’s.

Would be a lot of logic in doing the deal now to free up a loan spot.

Reg mentioned we may need some defensive cover. We now we could do with a winger and striker.

Wilson has done more than enough for us to pay now. **** Friday the lads a diamond and for under £4million we could buy and at least treble that in summer (not that I’d imagine we’d do it to cash in).

He has been a great pick up.

Agreed with all of that. He's been good so far but what I'm really liking is he seems to be improving as a centre forward all round game wise.

Never thought of this. Would be actually a really clever idea. I think say £4m would be affordable for us especially with where we are placed and Isidor is proven at this level. That then frees up another loan with obligation to buy on promotion for us for a higher level target

Any full backs that any would rate that we could realistically get? Been scanning around in my boredom and found a couple (not sure if they’re any good or realistic).

Luke Thomas - left back at Leicester. Doesn’t look like he’s played much this season, might be injured. On loan at boro last season.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy - right back at Genoa. Again doesn’t look like he’s played much. Joined in the summer for a few mil from Arsenal. Spent last season on loan at Millwall

Not convinced Roberts will be able to step up in the premier. He can barely score and assist in this league. Hume has been off it for a while, poor passing and being caught out of position. On the left Cirkin is the best LB in the league, Mundle and Watson should be able to step up another league. The right side is weak in comparison and we need to sharpen it up to give the team more balance.

Would have liked to seen us go for Jonjoe kenny but he's going to Sheffield United. 800k as six months left

Aye,but if you've loaned wilson with a promotion obligation of day 3 or 4 mil. Of that club want to sign him early, you'd rightly tell them where to go. If we don't go up,they'll get more for him so they're drumming the interest now, makes sense
We have an option to buy that becomes automatic on promotion. Whether we get promoted or not we have an option to buy him for €4m. His price isn’t going to change

Basically what you said. That’s how some reporters have already posted that Le Fee is contracted until 2029 with us if we go up

Is it? Is it not a case of us just activating the clause early considering it’s our option to buy him
