I’ve expected all along that they throw extra money at it. If they do more fool them. That’s not a disrespect to the player who I’d clearly like here, more a reflection on the fact that I like us making sensible decisions for the long term. Cannon’s agent probably wouldn’t be doing his job if he wasn’t telling every interested party that they were Cannon’s preferred destination (‘now you just need to match the salary being offered elsewhere by x etc’).
