According to the Burnley fan they struggle against teams that sit back and ask them to break them down. Since we've got pace up front with Wilson and Mayenda we may have some success with doing that

As much as we’re talking about all our options up front, only Isidor is capable of regular goals as a CF. We simply don’t score enough. That said I think we only need one additional CF & Cannon would be a great fit.

I think Mayenda is better on the inside right . His close control and pace are excellent but he needs to improve shooting and heading at the target -but he’s better at hitting the onion bag than Roberts.

As Watson & Mundle get back fit, our options in the middle and up front will be incredible at the business end of the season

abdullah & Og need loans to get up to speed.
4th highest scorers in the league, " we simply don't score enough"

Connolly added: “When I spoke to Kristjaan, I just thanked him for the opportunity this Club gave me when many others wouldn’t. It is something I will never forget and the love I felt from the fans after my first interview until my final game is something that I will always be grateful for. Physically and mentally, I leave Sunderland in a good place and I owe a lot of that to the people at the Club, including my team-mates and the staff. I’m now ready to play games regularly and I appreciate the Club’s understanding in allowing me to pursue this opportunity. I wish everyone at Sunderland the best of luck for what I’m sure will be a memorable end to a great season.”

Like someone mentioned hopefully that has been sanctioned as we have had movement on one of our targets

Wouldn't be surprised to see a Striker/Forward no one has even mentioned or even heard of then again it seems this window they are looking for players who can hit the ground running which makes domestic players more likely

I don't think we sanction that move without having someone lined up. Unless we were waiting for Abdullahi to be fit?

I don't necessarily think we do. We still have Rusyn and Mayenda as back up to Isidor (baring in mind we are likely to switch from 2 strikers to 1 striker tomorrow night).

Not really fussed about Cannon, not seen him do anything that's made me think "wow", and his record this season isn't really that impressive when you break it down, imo.

9 goals in the league, of which 3 were penalties. Personally, I don't really count those - if he doesn't score them then most likely someone else in the squad steps up and puts it away anyway. Of the other 6, 3 were scored in a freak game against an absolutely awful Pompey side having their worst game of the year.

That leaves 3 non-penalty goals in the other 21 matches he's played... not exactly prolific.

I know Stoke aren't great but I haven't seen anything from him to get me excited, and don't see him making the step up to the Prem if we get promoted. Still, if Reg wants him then gotta trust his judgement!

I don't think it would be so much him swallowing his pride and coming back with his tail between his legs as Ipswich not wanting to have admitted it was a mistake to sign him and not play him correctly.
That’s how I see it too. But I don’t personally think it’d be good having him back. Nothing against his football, but a lad who left on a massive high, and upwill likely be at his lowest confidence since he signed for us on loan, I think we’d need to rebuild him.

Cannon scored 4 against Pompey, not 3
