This is what I don’t understand he wants familiarity so would rather Sheffield where he spent 5 months on loan

over Blackburn, where he lived for years making 160 appearances

He left Blackburn on a free maybe a reason why he did and won't go back for that reason alone

It's a gamble. I guess my view is influenced by my opinion that the run-in is gonna be a grind regardless. I don't think it'll be expansive football and it is gonna be about gutting it out. I think putting a centre half at fullback can do that for a game or two. Certainly I'd expect we can cover suspensions and minor knocks like that. The other part of it for me is RLB and his rotation policy. Ultimately I don't believe we can bring in a specialist left back and have them ready to go - and ready to be trusted - for what may well end up being one or two appearances. We'd be far more likely to get what we need from versatility in our existing squad, or by bringing in a versatile player for the remainder. Sessegnon would be perfect, as he'd no doubt get up to speed playing off the bench in a variety of positions. However a specialist left back being brought in may well end up in an Aleksic style twilight zone for the rest of the season, which begs the question 'why bother'.
With Cirkins injury record it’s less likely to be that kind of role. I think O9 can cover the right adequately and Hume doesn’t miss many. I’m much less confident on the other flank and in light of the injuries we have it leaves us much weaker. All of Le Bris game is about changing direction and the players who get behind are in the physio room so that overlap matters on at least one side of the field. I think Alese’s injury added to to the rest/ the likelihood of more, leaves us weak.

I wonder if Louie Barry could be our versatile signing. Since he can play LW and CF

Not sure I see him as a striker for us tbh, struggles with his back to goal

I don't think we will sign him, I think our versatile forward must be able to play RM

Our LM civer is good

Mundle
Watson
Adil
Aleksic (looked good against Portsmouth in the wider role)

The other side we have 2 natural players, Roberts and Mayenda (loosely classed as a natural winger)

I think Villa want a level of commitment on game time, as much as any club can give it. I suspect for that reason he will go to a mid table championship team. May well be a midlands based one too, based in the talk down this part of the world.

I’m not convinced we see mundle all that much this season. Sounds like the club want to be extremely careful with him. Hamstring injuries are notorious to go again

I did mine. Followed correct recovery and physio, went back and played football after it was agreed I was fine and pulled my hamstring again first session back

we don't have a Ross stewart here now that is a fact, Isidor 'might' get 15 goals other players might. Burnley sign a proven striker back from Norwich and Sheff U could sign Brereton, of course had we kept Clarke we would be top now, is this striker issue always going to be brought up ? and defending better would help.

Good, his legs don’t work

Ross Stewart will never be the same footballer again.

Ashley Barnes hasn't scored double figure goals in a season since 18/19 (only done it 4 times in his career)

If Clarke had stayed we wouldn’t have Mepham, Le Fee, Mundle would be stuck on the bench and Watson would be in the u21s

We don't necessarily need a striker, Isidor and Mayenda are perfectly fine, but we need and want a different profile of player to help us break down teams.

We have a top 6 defence in pretty much every defensive metric.
