Can’t see us bringing 4 more in personally. Think it will be 2 or 3
I agree, however due to AA’s injury I think we need another LB, unless Hjelde can be trusted in that position?? Cirkin is an injury waiting to happen - and knowing our luck it’s bound to happen

No chance. It'll be 1 full back and utilising the versatility of Hume, O'Nien and Hjelde to cover a crisis. Then a striker. There'll be no RW imo, we have Roberts and he'll use Mayenda, Rigg and maybe even Aouchiche and Aleksic there if needed.
4 in would be ideal but I agree unlikely

Whittaker with the winner for Plymouth, cracking goal too

I’d love us to go in for him but reckon they’d want millions. We could offer money + a couple of players… <laugh>

The longer it’s gone on and the more I see of Connolly and Mayenda (I like Mayenda). The more I really think a striker signing is so important. Connolly is nowhere near good enough for this style of play. Mayenda’s composure infront of goal is nowhere near ready enough to be relied upon if Isidor gets injured.

Will be a crucial signing for a promotion push for me

It’s just a shame for Mayenda he’s gone from playing as part of a blistering front two for us in two excellent wins to not being good enough to be our sub striker, apparently.

we are not “desperate” for a striker. One would be nice. But not for the sake of it. Has to be right.

I think full back might be more important. We are one injury away from total bust town.

RLB said at start of window CM, versatile forward and striker. With le fee signing and aleses injury I hope we go for a versatile fullback, versatile forward and a striker

It's vital we begin removing some players from the squad soon. In my opinion, we have 6 that are surplus to requirements and can leave permanently;
Poveda
Bennette
Rusyn
Connolly
Ba
Anderson

RLB doesn't really trust any of them or are constantly injured in Povedas case. Not sure all would leave permanently so may be a loan with an option situation.

Then we can look at loaning players out. Jones looks like he is going to Gateshead, thought he played well today. Johnson needs a loan at a good level, minimum League 2/SPFL. I would've looked for Hjelde to go on loan when Seelt is fit but with Alese seemingly out I think he will stay as a versatile backup, thought Hjelde was decent today as well.

Think these outgoings would generate some funds in terms of fees and wages saved while also creating squad spaces.

Bang on, agree with every word

The quality in depth of the squad is where I think we’ll fall short when going for automatics.

agreed and it’s not really a surprise when you consider a) it was never the original goal; b) only 2 seasons back in the championship and c) we are competing with parachute clubs.

hopefully the depth of the squad being one that can compete at the top of the championship is something that organically improves next season (unless of course we’re in the premier league)
