Lets play devils advocate for a minute.

Le Fee comes in on loan. He plays the Rigg position a lot and as a result Rigg becomes an impact player. We miss out on promotion, dont sign Le Fee. Either Riggs development has slowed, or his agent gets in his ear about a move elsewhere. We are worse off start of next season?

The problem with loans like this proposed one is they are predicated on a short term gain. In this instance a potentially better chance at promotion. The medium to longer term impacts can be more telling if we dont get promotion.

Loans have to be really carefully used imo. Particularly in Jan.
Those are the risks you take imo. If we thought that way we would just stick with the current squad. We need these higher quality players to come in and see us over the line imo. We forget Rigg is 17 and for all he’s doing really well he was having a big spell where I actually didn’t notice him the entire game. He can’t be ran into the ground really

also maybe RLB will be willing to rotate more from game to game if he has quality like this on the bench or in the starting XI

I wonder whether KLD and Speakman think that way? I am not so sure. They seem to have a long term plan and jumping at something potentially risky maybe isnt there thing. Who knows.

I agree, if this was a player of a lesser level then it wouldn't even be a discussion. I think the level of player is so high that it would be worth it.

We are pretty desperate for another trusted body in the midfield area though and Le Fee brings a bit of versatility which helps. All the other promotion candidates have 6/7 players in the midfield area who all would start for 85% of the league.

Basically what SourPatch said. This is the best position we have been in since coming up and there is a real chance of auto’s. I think they are listening to RLB’s asks of more experience and quality in depth. Loans are perfect for getting that higher quality that we can’t quite afford to get permanently right now

I think yesterday was a perfect example of where players weren’t at their peak because of too many games. Cirkin was fatigued. Rigg has also been overplayed, partly through injury yes, but if we overplay or play through niggles we don’t do the right thing, we get more injuries. If all players are fit we have too many but when have all been available so far ? Neil has also been overplayed to me. It’s a hard balance to strike because we now have other young players emerging but I don’t think one more experienced player in that position is way too many. Ba and Rusyn will be off, probably AA. We need to wonder if he’s the right one and whether all can get game time, but change/rotation would be welcome at this point.

Not doubting your point of view but say we did get Le Fell signed and after a few games he's starting. Surely as a footballer you'd want to show that you're worth a starting place either in place of the guy who took yours or alongside him. Hopefully Rigg,Jobe or whoever sees it as another challenge to overcome rather than get into their agents ear to get another club lined up

100% this, I have seen a few mention about whose place he would take - but it's a long a$$ season and you need to be able to rotate players more than we do, especially in CM

I don't want players standing in the way of our exciting young players but I don't think that'll happen here. It'll be up to Le Fee to earn a starting place, and up to Rigg and Co to keep their place. That can only be a good thing for us.

The loan market for us should only be to bring in real quality that is out of our price range. Mepham and isidor have been class loan signings, Sameh on paper looked a cracking signing (and still might be)

Le Fee could be a cracking addition and add that might more creativity

I think there could be an element of succession planning for Jobe here too. Will be really hard to keep him in the summer, even if we get promoted. Having someone of Le Fee’s pedigree would be a great replacement

Yep.

Mind you that article ends up by saying Jobe is valued at £13.4m and says he’s a ball winning midfielder.
