Been rumours for a while that clubs are keen and that Patto would be happy to move on. I think it’s a season earlier than we’d want as Young isn’t quite ready but I could see us going for a good keeper on loan if we had a really good offer.

Inclined to agree mate plenty good keepers we could pinch for a year while young develops, do wonder what kind of fee we would get for him £8m ish?
Rather we kept Patterson until Young or whoever had grown enough to replace him, lads value will continue to increase as he plays more games.... especially if we get a PL season out of him, with him being English

I’ve dusted my fume head off (I think) and nothing has really changed to me. If anything it’s reaffirmed what I’ve thought needs to show on from the start.
Jan is a massive window for us. Huge for KLD’s tenure imo. It’s year 4 now of the 5 year plan. We have had a really excellent start but we can all see and even RLB has said it, we need the strength in depth.
We have money from the Clarke sale now. We need at least 3/4 ready to go and ready to make an impact players to come in. Some proper quality that would fight for a starting spot.
this is one of the best chances we will have to go up. I think we will make playoffs but we still need to invest just to make sure we keep that gap from us to 7th nice and big.
CF, LW (Barry loan?), CM and LB would be my priorities.
I just hope the board sees this opportunity and we get **** done this window

ST, CM, RW. All quality would make a huge difference.
Getting a super solid midfielder would give us a hedge against next summer too.

If Patterson to Spurs were to happen, would people be ok with recalling Young and having him battle Moore for the starting spot? Or would you want to sign a goalkeeper?
Yep I think I would, I am really high on Young - think he would do a job already tbh
Think I’d want to sign a GK. Moore did okay when he came in not so long ago but he’s not the answer longer term. Matty Young now in the Salford side and doing very well - keep him there!

Hasn't lived the life if we are honest mate. We both know what I mean by that too.
I like him. Think he’s a solid player for us, but if we could cash in and get a bit more quality up top - or put it towards a couple of new contracts - I’d do it. I’d also be sorely tempted to just give the shirt to Moore for the rest of the season and leave Young on loan, with the expectation that Young could get the starting job next season.

Like anyone is going to want to keep Patto. He's constantly berated for his distribution, then the rubbish that he's a stone overweight.
Young will be fine as long as he saves every shot, pings 80 yard pin point passes and never makes a mistake
