I really like Isidor and he’s been a good signing. However, I do wonder if us signing a striker in January maybe makes him staying permanently much less likely? New striker plus Mayenda and Abdellahi on permanent deals with minutes needing to be found for ogunsuyi makes it tough to also accommodate Isidor.
Agree with this. A loan striker of some higher quality could make a lot more sense. That way it’ll keep the other new permanent options happy that they aren’t getting thrown down the pecking order

Really? There was one defo against Bristol City alone where he put one header wide and the other header he had was straight at the keeper from point blank range but that’s probably being nit picky and there was the one he put wide from about 6 yards out against Stoke too when it was whipped in from Alese - that’s without even thinking beyond the last few games. Wilson also has only scored one goal since the start of November, Maja has 3 and an assist…

I just think our fans get themselves very excited far too soon because they see something like the goal against Coventry. Since that match he’s had 13 shots inside the opponents box and scored 0. He’s scored 5 goals from 38 shots, Maja has 10 from 37 shots. We always have to be looking to improve and that position isn’t one that’s set in stone just yet for me.

I was talking about the Swansea game tbh.

As I've said West Brom are set up around Maja and have scored many fewer goals than us ...

... it's also pointless highlighting missed chances when Maja misses them as well.

Every forward in world football misses. Maja is a superb finisher though, better than Isidor for sure.

Wilson has done okay for us, hopefully there’s more to come in the second half of the season :emoticon-0148-yes:

Yeah I get that but it’s the volume of missed chances, I think we’ve created some great chances for Wilson, especially balls flashed across the box in the last few home games that have resulted in nothing and don’t even go down as a chance to “mark against” because he hasn’t gambled. I think a natural poacher like Maja is all over those kind of situations making sure he’s sprinting into the 6 yard box and in n around the keeper. The notion that we’re a better team than WBA so we can’t admit they’ve got a better striker who wouldn’t improve us is daft. It’s like saying Isak wouldn’t improve Nottingham Forest because they’ve scored more goals and they’re higher in the table. Just pointing out that I think Wilson can definitely improve and 5 returns from 18 matches is what you expect from strikers at the bottom end of the table.

Would a be cracking move having a club like that as a feeder club, improves our scouting network in south America as well
Plenty other clubs are at it, that’s how Cardiff beat us to simic isn’t it?

Aye exactly, I wouldn't want a massive amount of feeder clubs but 2 or 3 is really useful

Surprised we haven't gone for one in Holland, Belgium, Austria or Switzerland

Seems to be a lot of talent in the Belgian leagues these days too definitely a market we should be all over

Does it help us get around work permits? Brazilian feeder is proper football manager-esque

Not as much as it used too, when the UK was in the EU it did

100% it is, I'd always try to get a Brazilian feeder club - some unreal talent in south America so we need to be all over that as they are affordable

“Domestic release clause - £70m
Foreign release clause - £12m”

I didn't say he wasn't a good striker but it doesn't automatically follow that he'd improve us.

You're missing my point that he's absolutely key to how West Brom play whereas Isidor isn't ...

... if Maja sustains a serious injury they're f*cked.

In any case we don't have Maja and won't be signing him so whatever he is means absolutely nothing.

It's like saying we'd be a better team with Isak but we're not signing him either ...

... it's all just meaningless hypothetical scenarios.

A good technical league but def seen an increase in physicality recently. I like the Swiss league as well

The German market is the one I want us to start looking at more, lots of talent in the top 2 leagues that would be of interest to top championship sides

Always something more exciting about a signing from abroad, even if very few of ours have paid off recently

Think most teams have more failed signings from abroad than good, it's just normally the good ones are really good and more memorable
Yeah and any signing is a risk, we’ve signed many a dud from these shores too :emoticon-0102-bigsm
