How did Mowbray misuse and shun him? That seems improbable to me.

Beale, Dodds and now RLB all seem to have not rated him enough to play.

Sometimes a player just turns out to be not as good as hoped. I liked the idea of his signing, but to be honest he has not looked remotely up to the standard. He isnt alone in our signinga recently. We take a risk / reward approach imo, when it works then great, when it doesnt best to let the lads go and not look for reasons the club or its emoloyees should take blame for.

Surely you must remember mate, it was terrible.

He had our forwards in and out, of the team, like the hokey-cokey ...

... and said he couldn't make himself understood with Rusyn.

He seemed oblivious to the fact that anyone south of Watford wouldn't understand his thick Yorkshire accent and slang.

How could someone outside the NE follow this ffs <doh>

I was asked a couple of days ago who I thought to be our worst signing. Grigg and Rodwell came to mind then that little coloured lad that came from South America can’t remember his name, but was rumoured we bought the wrong player.
Does anyone remember who I mean.
Milton Nunez :emoticon-0140-rofl:

In my opinion, the striker position is the most reliant on the teams system and other players on the pitch. They need time and a run of games to get used to said system.

Rusyn played 793 minutes in the league all of last season and got 2 goals and 1 assist. Them minutes came in the shape of 21 appearances with 9 of them being starts. Thats not enough consistency to get in rhythm with the team.

If you compare him to Simms for example, between the first game of last season and the 31st of December Simms played 1241 minutes and scored 3 goals. He then exploded in the 2nd half of the season and finished with 13 league goals. They persisted with him and it paid off.

However, it's also true that Rusyn is not anything special and should absolutely be moved on. I'm not sure we gave him a particularly fair shot though.

Ridiculous management of him to be honest. Paid good money. Chased for ages and managed terribly here. Shipped out. We have to say it's not a good look from us. We have had some great transfers but there is a growing list of duffers.

…mostly from abroad. Really poor

Agree. Jack Clarke before he joined us is a prime example of how limiting a player to sub appearances can be really detrimental to their football. Not everyone is a Jhon Duran who seems to be able to score whenever he’s given a half hour. Surely you sign strikers to fit your system and if Rusyn was signed as a striker he couldn’t be any further from Hemir so at least one of them was never going to fit.

Watkins is quality but that lad should be featuring more for Villa imo. He’s got the lot, only just gone 21 :emoticon-0104-surpr

I remember Monchi said in an interview earlier in the season Duran thinks he’s better than Watkins and wants to be playing every week and the reaction on social media was full of people mocking him.. eating their words now I’m sure!

He’s unbelievable like. Chelsea may regret not agreeing terms with him in the summer, now

Yeah he seems to be more suited to a LM role, I think he can play CF but not in a physical league like the Championship

He has the pace and energy teams like in a winger plus a good scoring record that final season in the Ukraine

I remember seeing his heat map in Ukraine and his runs were mostly inside towards the box from deep on the left, like an old fashioned inside left forward, a bit like the role Amad played for us, but on the left instead of right obviously.

Agreed. Particularly Hemir. I think he absolutely ruined that lad on opening day. I agree that Hemir didn't do enough later in his time here but at the time of the Ipswich game, he'd scored and done well in the last pre-season game against the Spanish team.
Do we know the terms of his loan deal? Is he likely to leave permanently?

I really really rate Jackson to be fair so I’m not sure Duran would step in ahead of him. He needs to be starting though and could start for a better team than Villa imo. Arsenal need a 9…

I am really intrigued by where he goes. PSG wanted him a few years back if I remember correctly. Would be astonished if one of the PL big boys take him and i'd be equally astonished if Rashford drops to a lesser team. Saudi maybe?

I hope he doesn’t go to Saudi like, especially at the age he’s currently at.

Arsenal have always fancied him apparently.
