Just seen he hasn't played since November, maybe he needs mins, loan to buy on obligation which could get him PL football next season if he wants?

He's definitely going somewhere in the next 3/4 days its just whether we can give them and him the best solution, been training on his own over there ahead of them sanctioning a move to somewhere

Premier league clubs won’t take a gamble on him now he’s not played this year

so I think it’s not out of the question we get him

he’d thrive more in our system than Burnley’s

Yeah i mean with his style of play hes essentially a better Roberts, would suit us perfectly as long as Regis can get his work rate defensively to match paddy's.

I agree that we are a bit light in some areas and need to strengthen. For me, it's all about the quality we bring in. PL potential rather than high quality championship. RLB wants players who can contribute now though, so there is the conundrum.
This is where it gets difficult IMO. Finding players that are within our budget, able to contribute immediately while representing value for the longer term is really tough to achieve. I know the whole loan to buy on promotion wheeze is popular with fans after ELF, but even that doesn't really match with the brief (as if a club is willing to loan out without guarantee of sale, they're more likely to be out of the first team picture and therefore less ready to contribute for us from day one).

Ultimately, it becomes a balance once again. One or two to help us over the next 20 games, but not too many to destabilise what we've built, whilst being mindful that players to push us through the rest of the season are likely to be either affordable and not suitable for the next level or ready for the PL and out of our price range. Then there's the spectre of a scenario where we miss out and have to pick through the ramifications of what we've done in January in the summer and beyond. It's miles away from being the simple task that many think it to be.
