Frustrating part with Bennette is hes shown flashes of being capable of murdering someone on that left side, just raw, no idea if its now a attitude thing he expects more game time, but is to raw to get....theres an opportunity for him sitting waiting right now....but guess thats the players who do & dont make it!
Whatever it is I don't think it's going to work out at this point. How many lads break into a team after this amount of time in the wilderness? Can't think of many.
I have mixed feelings on Bennette, I agree with the general sentiment here that his chances are slim but he is such a throwback and he looked such an exciting prospect when we first signed him I really thought he would become an important player. I'm not sure if it's the player or the coaching but efforts should have been made to develop his game into something that fits the modern game. He's still very young so I think I'd prefer to see him go on loan rather than sell on the cheap.
The 3 strikers we were linked with in the last window: Gift Orban at Lyon hasn't played since September, apparently a bid of €10 on deadline day wasn't enough to tempt Lyon. Mo Bamba at Lorient in currently injured but has just 2 goals in 9 appearances this season, again a bid of £9m wasn't enough to tempt Lorient on deadline day. Alex Mendy at Caen has 7 goals despite the team struggling this season, we famously tracked him throughout the window but Caen wouldn't budge on their demands. Wonder if we'll revisit any of these in January.
I think he is worth a punt, defenders can’t fathom what he is doing cos some times i dont think he knows himself.
Be very surprised if he plays first team football for us. He hasn't made the bench when we are down to the bare bones at LW and he has even been playing LB for the u21's.
The Mirror linked us with Louie Barry this morning alongside Boro, Leeds and Burnley. Not so sure we'll go for a left sided forward though. Guess it depends on the Watson and Mundle injuries.
Can only see a striker if Rusyn actually leaves Unless AA is his replacement. We’ve got a pretty big squad when everyone is fit. Ba, Rusyn, adil, jewi out with Johnson and jones on loan
But when have we had a squad where most of them are fit ? Seems like an age which is why we need a large squad and we can’t afford to be carrying passengers . We can’t be sentimental and unless RLB thinks they are suitable we need to be refining the squad with the calibre that suits his needs if we are to be serious in taking the club forward and hopefully upward .
https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...tle-united-transfer-interest-revealed-4910226 As previously stated, Rigg has been rated as worth around £30million, with Manchester United thought to be interested in a deal for the youngster. However, it is understood that Sunderland are highly unlikely to accept any deal during the winter window. Moreover, Rigg himself does not yet feel like he needs to move on having only just cemented himself as a first-team regular. Of course, a huge bit from a team like Real Madrid could test Sunderland’s resolve and turn the player’s head but for now, Rigg leaving this winter does not feel likely.
