This Semih link could be a smoke and mirrors to try and show Akpoms agent we won't wait around. Very unlikely if the likes of Villa have been linked hours ago to the same player.

Great to see us showing intent and ambition this window though.

I 99% believe we’ve put a bid in for him as they say. He fits the profile more or less perfectly. It’s too on the nose to be a complete fabrication.

what I completely doubt is that we’ll be successful

I honestly think Akpom is the most realistic rn
The report about the Turkish lad says there’s a package there, could it be we have had the offer on the table a while, and due to the clubs interested the club have decided to press ahead with akpom

I’d absolutely love to be properly in the know and be involved in all the work Speakman does. And know exactly how many offers we have on the table and for who. I reckon we have at least 5 or 6 bubbling away with the hope one comes off

Just made the mistake of watching a youtube and now all I want in the world is a Semih.

Have wanted SAFC to sign one of those stocky, mobile strikers ever since we missed out on Salvador Cabanas. Reckon that type would be absolutely loved at Sunderland. Incidentally that archetype has a specific name in South American football. Anyone know what it is?

Sounds very Sunderland that offer

I think the club would probably be comfortable with what you are saying here but I think Onien at left back would take out the balance of the team and we'd lose some threat down the left side. I think Onien would be better at right back but still think Hume is more of a dynamic player down that side. I think either a younger player in the same mould of us when we signed Hume or Mundle could be the way to go.

Aye. I think it’s really important to have proper full backs able to step in not just someone to come in and “do a job”. They’re important to how we play. Like Gomez going in at RB over Trent, he does a job but nowhere near as effective going forward as Bradley was when he came in imo.
