Will be made official tomorrow morning and he'll be on the bench for Stoke, I imagine.
they may announce that he’s available for Saturday to try and shift a few extra tickets but then only bring him on for 5 mins

I think you are over thinking it too much as you aren't keen on the dealIf we are paying his full wage now, for the next x games, that is a benchmark the club have set as what they are willing to pay for a player right now. We are no doubt mid negotiations with other first teamers on a new deal. Dan Neil, team captain, being one. Why would Dan, for example, be out of order expecting the club to offer him the same? Would the club offer him the same? Then you have agents, seeing this as opportunity to do what they do best.
If we get promoted, and he has a pre-agreed salary, then you can expect a raft of other players demanding the same or more.
It feels like a big rod for our own back to be honest. I really hope he is worth it.
This sort of thing has caused problems for football clubs for a long time now. Man Utd are the best example of this. They have brought in players from other clubs and given them huge contracts, like Mount. Now Mainoo is up for a new contract he wants a massive bump to at least match Mount. They are unlikely to be able to do it so he could well leave. The local lad out of their academy who their fans more associate with. And who is the better player as it turns out.
I am basing all of this on the gap between Le Fees weekly wage paid for by the club and any of our other lads being significant. I read somewhere Ballard is our top earner and on around £20k. Suggestion Le Fee is on double. My experience is upset can be caused when some folk get paid significantly more than others.
Your argument seems to ignore the ambition young players may have, when they see a talented player coming into the club, being paid a better salary, they can be inspired to think that if they can improve their performance, the club may be persuaded to offer them something similar? If we are paying his full wage now, for the next x games, that is a benchmark the club have set as what they are willing to pay for a player right now. I don’t expect miracles from him just 3 goal contributions a game and 100% tackle succession will do meI am really excited by the signing but more by the ambition it shows.
What I’m slightly nervous about is that it’s been a little too over hyped. It’s bloody high expectations he’s got to live up to now.
But I’m loving every second of it

I dont think it has anything to do with me not being keen on the deal tbh.I think you are over thinking it too much as you aren't keen on the deal
We will have a similar deal in place for Mepham and there wasn't any complains about that deal
We are covering wages by likely paying a loan fee, that's very different to signing a new player and offering him a lot more than the rest of the team

I do not believe we have an agreement in place for Mepham do we? If not then not the same. I understand we arent paying Isidors wages?
Had it been suggested we had paid a significant loan fee, but not stated the number, that would have been different. As it stands, what is being posted on her is claiming we are covering his full wages. If that is true I stand by my concerns. They may prove unfounded, and I wont let it get in the way of me cheering the lad on. But I dont feel I am overthinking much frankly.
I agree with your second para mate....I think we're a well run club now,and we aren't going to do anything stupid.I think they’d be right to be pissed off if we brought somebody in on more than double our highest earner, and I think that’s the point @FellTop is making, which I agree with.
I just don’t think we are paying ELF’s wages at all. Roma will continue paying him his contracted wages and we will have agreed a monthly compensation payment to them which happens to cover them, so they’re not out of pocket.
So we aren't paying anything for Mepham or Isidor?I dont think it has anything to do with me not being keen on the deal tbh.

It was Congleton who screwed up with Alvarez. I know a fair bit about it from a contact I used to have.
Basically the club doctor (Dr Rehman) advised against signing Alvarez because of a problem with his left knee until Alvarez had had an operation to correct it. Congleton waited until the doctor was away (ironically having a knee op himself) before pushing it through. Alvarez later broke down with an injury to his right knee, caused by the problem with his left knee putting additional stress on his right knee. Dr Rehman ended up leaving the club over it and has worked for the FA since as part of the England medical team at all age groups. Later Donald and Methven tried to sue him to recover the cost of the transfer from him after the court of arbitration in sport found against us and ordered us to pay the transfer fee, costs and wages/bonuses due. It's telling that one of the first things KLD did after taking over was to drop that court case.
Congleton was the same bloke who signed Rodwell but didn't put in a relegation clause on his wages, but allowed Defoe to go for nothing if we went down. He was a bullshitter of the first order, but some how bluffed his way to work at Celtic and Leicester after leaving us.
Seems to be an air of "what the f**k", around this potential signing from pockets of the football World.
Good news!
