13 goals as their 9 last season is hardly anything to rave about mind. Having a half decent season at the minute but hasn’t really done it consistently.

Over the last 2.5 seasons he is going at a goal roughly every 2 and a half games when played as a 9. Add in 10 or so assists in that time.

It is more his playing style that impresses me. A lot like Stewart, will stretch defences behind, good in the air and positionally looks good. Works centre halves really hard and brings others into play. Would suit as a 1 through the middle for me. More likely Langstaff though.

I don’t get why would Barnsley let Styles leave on loan with a view to signing in the summer. What’s in it for them?

just as we wouldn’t let Hume leave on loan to West Ham

Probably be something do with FFP, better for them to receive money from the summer for next accounts or something. Think mags have done it with Chelsea for that Hall.

They play a back 3 and he’s usually left of the central midfielders. Slightly different to a CDM when in that shape.
