We all want the best for our club, we all want to be challenging and be vying for the best available players.
However, it looks like the club can't afford or don't want to pay over odds to secure the top end champ players. Thats just the way it is. Theyve been pretty open about it and want to try something else which might take longer and be more sustainable. I'm.alright with that.
You can't say the likes of Ballard, Neil, Clarke, Hume haven't developed under current regime and we now have value in squad from little outlay. How do we know Mayenda, Seelt, hemir, anouche and ba won't come good with another six months of coaching and development.
That brings me to Beale. His appointment suggests that the club are sticking with this approach as he is supposedly very good at developing young players. That might not show instantly on pitch but if they want to bring in young players and develop them then he might be better than most. If that means giving up.promotion this season then that's fine. As long as we don't get relegated, which we won't, we can build and go again next season. We will probably lose some fans along the way but they Will.come crawling back again.
What isn’t good for young players is fans personally abusing their head coach, but that’s for another thread. I do t say any of those players as bad buys, bad players only not ready. Burstow was a bad loan because he was the one supposed to be ready.

Good point on burstow
Recently our additions have either been injured or got injured straight away or not been ready
We need to get players in who can hit the ground running
As they say

i'm going to be a proper huff here but on loan and then buying him in the summer, sounds to me like we are struggling for money and a are counting on sale in the summer to pay for him, basically getting him on chucky
Could be for a whole number of reasons. Barnsley getting money in the summer instead of now could be better for their accounts, same with us. The FFP rules coming in soon are no joke and teams want to get ahead of that, Barnsley made good money from sales in the summer so don't need money now but do in the summer.

I posted on here previously about loan with obligation as possibly the way to go. I have no problem with it personally. Critical for me we get 2 or 3 ready to go players in now to maintain some of momentum. Even if all it means is we finish 8th not 14th it is worth it when it comes to attracting players (or even head coaches) in the summer.

It's a difficult conundrum mate.

You could say clubs like Birmingham aren't struggling for money because they're spending ...

... but the stadium is a mess and they're deep in debt.

If the current owners fail, which they probably will, they could easily 'do a Short' and just stop supporting the club. That leaves a failed club that the supporters will expect someone else to pick up and just start the spending again.

It's mind blowing how such a great game has been so ruthlessly destroyed.

Exactly what I was thinking tbh and going off what I’d posted yday about no funds this window. We will have to see if any fees are paid between now and next week I suppose.

Plenty room for loans in our squad so fine by me too, don’t mind a try before you buy haha

We could be loaning to then buy in the summer to allow the funds we do have to still be spent this window.

I keep wanting to remind everyone, last January we didn't sign anybody until the 23rd (today), and ended up signing 4. So there is still plenty of scope for deals to happen.

thing is it won't be a try before you buy it's an obligation to buy, so we would have to buy him in summer, so even if he's **** we would still have to buy

id be happy with the signing mind i think it would be a good, has played in this league so would hit the ground running in that instance but if its an obligation to by we clear want to buy, so do it now,

if ffp works the sam way as the prem, i'm not really clued up with the EFL

but if you sell a player for 10m you can then spend 20m with out the worry off FPP

say we got 10-12 m for are sales in the summer if it works the same as the prem

we then can spend 24m with out a worry of FFP
so can't see it being that reason to be honest

to me it's sounds like we haven't got the money and will use the money on 1 of are players we sell in the summer

It could be we have limited funds this window so get in a loan or 2 plus one on a perm and reassess the loans in the summer? (Unless we’re obligated to buy) I have nothing to back that up mind just a thought, a big sale is where we will kick on/find out about this model

PSG signed Mbappe on loan with an option/obligation originally.

Arsenal have Raya on loan with an option/obligation now.

Villa have Zaniolo on loan with an option/obligation now.

The mags have Hall on loan with an option/obligation now.

It's just a way for clever clubs to get around the financial regulations. But aye lets give our club stick for doing it. Getting so ****ing boring now.

The obligation to buy will come with a criteria though.
