You could argue that Clarke was a bit of a gamble when we signed him, didn't work out too bad.
I'm trying to ignore all this speculation at the moment, as that is exactly what it is, just a load of waffle trying to fill newspapers, get clicks etc.
There will be the odd nugget I miss as a result but overall its probably better for my health to just ignore it or treat it for what it is.
Do you think we will sign a CDM

I expect Clarke to leave and maybe Ballard and Ekwah as well... All of these are Premier standard players, for me, its just what we would do with the money.

Will mean nothing if we continue to make JC and PR the star players.

To get a striker in we need to change the fundamentals of how we play, which was something TM didn't understand or was not willing to do.
If we can get a January premium for Clarke, spend the LND money on a striker and get a CDM we may not be that badly off. Bennette gets game time, Taylor time off bench, and PR I suspect would respond to not being in JCs shadow. Looking for silver linings I know but at some point Clarke is going to go. Hes on course for well over 20 goals this season as a winger. A lower to mid premier club might well pay through the nose for that and hopefully KS will absolutely rinse them for every penny.

Clarke is gone in my eyes. The only way of keeping him happy was being in with a decent shout of promotion.

Ballard is ready but I can see him staying until the summer.

Ekwah has a fair bit to learn before he makes the jump. He's awful at defending and doing the physical side of the game.

I'm more concerned about losing Dan Neil along with Jack.

If Clarke does go in January I hope they give a bit of gametime to Tommy Robson. Looks a real gem and could save us a few quid.

I think coming in off the left is Rusyns natural position as well iirc when we first signed him.

We do have a decent shout of promotion. We’re 7th and could easily finish top 5 and go up

I think it would take something unbelievable for us to sell Clarke this window, summer he’s 100% away though which gives us a much better chance of replacing him/strengthening the squad with the money
I doubt he will go to a lower league Prem team he wouldn't want to risk ending up back in the championship in the summer.

It would make sense for him to wait unless the club try to force him out for the money !!!

I don't think any of the "star" players will leave in January unless someone bids mental money. At least that's what I'm hoping.

Maybe some a couple of the fringe players will go either on loan or permanent deals but I think we will add at least 2 new players and have a right good go at the play off places

I genuinely can’t name a premier club that could come in for him that makes sense, not convinced he’ll want to go back to London

Sounds good in principle but he's going out with Ian Hartes daughter so Harte will be in his lug hole too, trying to force a move <laugh>

Villa have Bailey, Buendia, Ramsey Zaniolo, Traore and Diaby.

He’s not even getting to look at their bench.
Could be a shout not sure what they’re like for wingers but he does have similarities to Jack Grealish
I wasn't sure of Villa's options.

If he is to go I don't think it will be to a team at the bottom, although maybe Forest?
