He also hasnt played this season so depends when he would be up to speed

Obviously was a quality player a few yrs a go, just not sure how quickly he would get up to speed for championship football
Would be a pointless signing if you ask me. Hasn't played in months, won't be here next season so we'd lucky if we got 12 games out of him on what kind of salary?

Stansfield I'd like to see, but it isn't happening. He apparently turned us down in the summer to join Birmingham, because he wanted to be close to London. Move on.

He's only 21 so what might be important one year could change the next. Not that London and Birmingham are exactly next door neighbours.

Sorry Brian, but it was merged with the winter window thread 'cos he was already being discussed on it, and we don't need more than one thread to discuss the same subject :emoticon-0148-yes:
Yeah Mate But It Wasn't A Transfer Link. two people wanted feedback. I didn't just pass a link. I put thought and effort into gaging an opinion from others.
Too be honest at your age you need to let go of your ocb and let things run. Life isn't about order. People are changeable, what's clear today isn't clear tomorrow. We're all changeable and everybodys feeling is valid. I would have merged the two threads. But it clearly wasn't a winter transfer link. It's clearly an interview with a ex player. Stop devaluing it and making it about your obsession with order. You're not the be all. Start challenging your obsessive behaviours. It was a valid thread to make people think and talk about yesteryear. Not a cheap transfer link that you've devaluted with your ocd.

Your are wonderful man. Your heart is in the right place 100%. But obviously you aren't being challenged. You're being enabled. There was no harm in letting the thread run a few days. You filed it off according to your own level of interest.

The other bloke beat me by two minutes. I should have been merged into him. The news was of that day. Why burry it, it's cause of you impulsive need to organise. You're better than that. You're way too intelligent to let compulsion given you. Grow mate. You're a very smart engaging man. But you're driven to a level of order the defies yourself.

Love you Gordon, it's my birthday. I wouldnt bother with anyone on this day but I respect you so much. I think you're clever and compassionatie. Magic features for me. But you need to stop being so uptight about order. I love you so ext your possess but middle ground please.

Sorry, I'm pissed but I love ya mate.

Fact it was a loan might have been a factor. Why move the length of the country for a few months when you can move an hour away. Maybe looked at the squads and thought he would get better opportunities at Birmingham. Loads of reasons why he might have preferred them.

Amad on bench for Man Utd....... they gunna get him 45 mins under his belt for us so hes ready to get another 45 against Preston then start against the mags

Ian Harte at it again. As if anyone takes notice of Teamtalk :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Everyone knew this was coming when Harte randomly mentioned him at the start of December, saying he was happy but Sunderland have a valuation they will accept. He’s trying to be clever but it’s bloody obvious I’m he’s making sure prospective buyers know he will be sold if they offer enough.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go this transfer window.

I’m genuinely expecting him to leave.

Me too.

He is hands down one of the best players in the league, reckon there will be a few bids but all depends on club valuation.
His head could get turned too. He won’t be here much longer anyway but it would be a sickener to lose him during the season.

I wouldn't be surprised if we sold Clarke, I think we came close to doing so before but the offer wasn't quite there. Add a bit extra on for January panic tax and it could well happen.

If we did I think we'd reinvest the money quickly, maybe in Aravena who we've been linked with before.

I think we would only sell Clarke for an astronomical fee in January, as we would have to counter balance it with the hit in our season (and drop in chance of promotion, fan unrest etc). He’s got 2.5 years left on his contract.

hopefully we are switched on enough to realise that you might as well spend 10-15 mil now, knowing that someone is going to leave this window or next for big money. Better to bed in replacements now rather than wait.

It sounds mad but if we bought a really good striker, centre mid, and winger with the money… maybe selling Clarke wouldn’t be the end of the world. If the striker came in and starting scoring goals immediately it might even be an overall improvement. Big gamble tho.
