In the absence of Spurs v Arsenal, I watched the recorded Guinea Bissau game yesterday. He played in a central midfield role, I think, because as usual he was here there and everywhere.
There are some decent players in this competition: Salah and Elneny both started for Egypt but the standard of football is variable. Although the skills are there, too many players naively run with the ball when they should be passing and favouring a wild shot when there are better options. By that standard, Camara actually looked good, making himself available and passing it to someone in the same shirt. At one point, he got into a huge pocket of space on the edge of the box... only to watch as his team mate blasted over from a ridiculous angle.
Egypt had the best of the play but Guinea Bissau were unlucky. Elneny should have been sent off in the first half for a ankle breaker of a tackle. Guinea Bissau also had a late equaliser ruled out when a goal bound shot brushed the shoulder of an offside player who was facing away from the direction of flight. OK, I know the rules but it was going in anyway and the deflection took the ball towards the helpless keeper, not away from him. Tough.
I'd expect he'll start their last group game.. he deserves to.
