I recognised several names from Premier League and Champions League commentary in the two games yesterday so Camara is in good company. It's his first cap so I suppose he couldn't expect much more than a brief cameo.

I admired the chutzpah of the guy who's got the name "Pele" on the back of his shirt...

Two rearranged Home games.

1.....AFC Wimbledon.....Tues...8th March...7.45pm

2.....Portsmouth.....Tues.....15th March.....7.45pm.

Just been reading Ryan Lowe's comments on leaving Argyle for Preston.

Good grief its all....me...me...me.....how will we cope without him.

I read that then I moved on. Mind you I already had. I think we do get over fixated with people who join then leave. It's a job to them even if it's a life thing with us. You hope for honesty but it is in short supply with most these days.

Camara played 88mins tonight as Guinea Bissau lost 1-0 to Egypt....of course Salah got the goal.

Think we missed him today. Would love him to do well on a big stage but another part of me wants him home and by that I mean the one in Plymouth not out there.

Nigeria.... P2...GD 3....6PTS.
Egypt........P2...GD 0....3PTS.
Guinea-
Bissau......P2...GD -1...1PT
Sudan......P2...GD -2...1PT

Still to play Nigeria......need to win to stand any chance of not being eliminated.

EVERTON...?

Well Everton fan Schumacher hasn't been mentioned for the vacancy.....but Rooney has....which amazes me because Rooney hasn't shown any ability to manage his domestic life let alone a football team.

What makes people think a good player automatically means that they will be a great manager.

Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore etc....great players but crap managers.

I'm not a fan of Rooney but in football terms he has done very well at Derby considering the brick walls built for them to get over. 21 points deduction this season and they are now not bottom. If you add the points on they would be 11th. That in itself would be an achievement given he has had no funds in a league where spending millions is quite normal. You cannot count the points deduction against his record.

In the absence of Spurs v Arsenal, I watched the recorded Guinea Bissau game yesterday. He played in a central midfield role, I think, because as usual he was here there and everywhere.

There are some decent players in this competition: Salah and Elneny both started for Egypt but the standard of football is variable. Although the skills are there, too many players naively run with the ball when they should be passing and favouring a wild shot when there are better options. By that standard, Camara actually looked good, making himself available and passing it to someone in the same shirt. At one point, he got into a huge pocket of space on the edge of the box... only to watch as his team mate blasted over from a ridiculous angle.

Egypt had the best of the play but Guinea Bissau were unlucky. Elneny should have been sent off in the first half for a ankle breaker of a tackle. Guinea Bissau also had a late equaliser ruled out when a goal bound shot brushed the shoulder of an offside player who was facing away from the direction of flight. OK, I know the rules but it was going in anyway and the deflection took the ball towards the helpless keeper, not away from him. Tough.

I'd expect he'll start their last group game.. he deserves to.

New date arranged for the Home game versus Cheltenham....it will now be played on Tuesday 22nd of March at 7.45pm.

Bit of local news for me is that Andy Woodman who is Bromley's successful manager has been given permission to talk to Gillingham regarding their manager vacancy.

Our old mate Steve Evans had been sacked last week after Gillinghams terrible run of defeats.....just as long as Evans doesn't take over at Bromley if Woodman gets the job.

Me and son aren't going so that's two tickets for somebody else. Got a feeling this will be a Chelsea reserve side so not worth spending several hundred to watch in person. Will find somewhere to watch it though I'm sure. Believe it could be on the "red button". Sounds nuclear to me.
