Puerta getting a bit ahead of himself. And poor timing from him to be voicing publicly such thoughts about his future.

If the buy-option is triggered then this could end up like Giles all over again. Say we buy him for the reported €3.5 million fee. If he becomes our player but wants to leave in the summer, we’d have to want at least twice that to sell him. Really odd comment by him at this stage of the season.
If the buy-option isn’t yet triggered then this gives Sellés a good reason not to play him for the remaining games for off-the-pitch reasons.
I know it’s difficult as we don’t know what division we’re in but if we stay I like to think we’d sign Puerta permanently. Stands out, especially recently, in quite an average team. I think he’d look even better with a stronger 3 in front of him.
Yeah it’s quite easy for people to criticise him now for his contributions after an interview like that. But he’s been one of our best under Selles, despite being messed around fairly regularly with the clause
I take most articles about City in The Press with a pinch of salt. In this instance with not knowing what division are going to be in, who knows where a number of our players will be next season especially if the worst happens and we are relegated. Likewise I think that Puerta has been one of our better performers recently.
