I don't blame you, apologies.

Ruben Selles to me on Gustavo Puerta: “he’s still an important player for us - I just decided to go with a different set up in the last couple of games”. He’s answered fan’s questions about any obligation to buy him after a set number of games.

Ruben Selles on Mason Burstow’s reported move out of Hull City on Monday: “the only thing that I can say is I told the club I don’t want a player going to a direct club in The Championship right now”

Surely the brains team didn't need Selles to tell them it wasn't a good idea to send Burstow to Plymouth.

No they didn't, but it's their job to inform the manager of any approach for a player, the manager will then make his opinion known

Eyüpspor are having a really good season for a newly-promoted team. Currently fourth in the table and unbeaten in the last five. Could qualify for Europe.
Yeah, they have a relatively old squad, with ex-Fener/Gala/Besiktas players, managed by Arda Turan, mostly a miracle of coach so far. They are in financial troubles though, sold Ahmed Kutucu to cover debt and GK Berke is also on market (rumored to sign Gala in summer), so I wouldn't expect too much fee from them, they will likely cover wages of Abdus only.

Caykur Rizespor on the other hand can do anything, we might get transfer fee there, their main source of income government backed companies, sports minister was a director of club, for example name sponsor Caykur is a government owned tea producer. Looking good in this case, only problem, they are direct rival of Trabzon (neighbor city), where Abdus is born and fan of.

How many players have we now brought in from Turkey only to, relatively, quickly return again?

Not that many I don't think?

Tufan made 79 apps for us and scored 16 goals before returning for family reasons.
Allahyar didn't go back to Turkey.
Tetteh didn't go back to Turkey.
Oscar didn't go back to Turkey.
Pelkas was a loan.
Lincoln is a loan.
Sinik is currently still ours and has been for what seems like forever despite a past loan back to Turkey.

Ömür and Traoré look the most likely to fit the bill, but as of right now Ömür's still here so the only one I can think of to come from Turkey and go back fairly quickly is Traoré. Even then, wasn't he with us for two full seasons, albeit often injured? I remember he looked a world beater at the end of his first season when he came back from injury.

Mostly decent players who we just never seemed to get the best out of, Tufan excepted. Injuries counted for a lot, Lincoln we haven't seen yet, Pelkas was disappointing and Sinik, well, who knows?

I think they could have said no to Plymouth without needing Selles to sign off on it. If Selles had said "Yeah go for it" would they have loaned him to Plymouth? I don't think so...

I noticed they signed an ex-Trabzonspor player in Toköz.

Speaking of ex-Trabzonspor players, Berat Özdemir has had a funny career path. We tried to sign him summer 2022 but Trabzonspor wouldn’t sanction him going, then later in the window they sold him to a club in Saudi Arabia, he spent one year there then was loaned back to Trabzonspor last season and has been loaned out again this season to Başakşehir.
