Did we really need 7 ?

If we get Barry I’d argue we didn’t need one of Amrabat or Lincoln.

Amrabat is exactly like Sharp last year. We signed him because he was a free agent and in case we didn’t get our proper targets later on. Lincoln just feels like an Acun vanity signing.

Amrabat wasn’t really a free agent, he agreed early termination with AEK a few days before he joined City.

Lincoln is a really interesting one tbh, because he’d have had plenty of suitors on a 6 month loan yet opted to come here and leave his family for 6 months. Palmer feels like the one who’ll be left out now

And what about the other 6... are they vanity singings too. Beating other clubs to Barry is he a vanity signing, or do we give the owner some slack for giving us some great hope moving forward with the both the manager and players signed...

He might be a baller, who knows...

he was also our form player in the 3 or 4 before he got injured too right? sure he was up there in our own mom threads?

He was crap against Coventry on the back of his previous m.o.m performance, he is a decent larker at this level but so it seems are the lads that have come in, Crooks is a whole level above him tbh, I would suspect he will be used as an impact player off the bench.

Agree that crooks is generally more consistent, Palmer can blow hot and cold according to Cov fans, but when he's good he's very good. Palmer also seems to be more of a 10, where crooks is a more rounded midfielder.

ON LEEDS UNITED NEWS DISCUSSING WHY THEY DIDNT GET BARRY...

Ruben Selles factor sees Louie Barry near move to Hull City
Hull City have had a pretty tough 2024/25 season so far. The Tigers finished 7th in the Championship table last time round but then made the shock decision to sack Liam Rosenior, and appointed Tim Walter instead. He lasted only a few months before Hull then poached Ruben Selles from Reading.

After two wins in three, including Hull City’s 3-0 win over Sheffield United last time out, the Tigers now sit in 19th place of the table. Selles is turning things around and talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook says that Selles was deemed the right manager for Barry’s development.

Crook posted on X: “Louie Barry is joining [HASHTAG]#HCAFC[/HASHTAG] from [HASHTAG]#AVFC[/HASHTAG] on loan. Unai Emery believes Ruben Selles Is the ideal manager for his young talent.”

I thought his work rate was poor. One of these that only come alive when he gets the ball. Watching Pedro run past him to try and regain possession, while he looked uninterested wasn't very impressive. Selles probably wasn't impressed either

If Omur goes you'd expect there to be a place, but we are desperate to shift some players on, the problem with Palmer, like Mehlem and burstow is that when you buy someone for a million+ in august it seems a bit fkn ridiculous to be trying to shift them 6 months later, no chance anyone is buying him so it's a loan, likely not on full wages being covered

agreed…..but still cheaper than getting relegated to Div 3
