HDM confirm interest in Lincoln from Fenerbahçe.

Again, the amount of attacking midfielders this club signs every transfer window is obscene. Crooks is fine, though I don’t understand why we’ve given him such a long contract. Then Gelhardt (who is more of a number 10 than a striker) and now Lincoln.

We don’t even play with a proper number 10 behind the striker this season anyway.
2.5 for a 30 year old isn’t that bad

Another Fenerbahce cast off being linked with us, not for me thanks.

I’m sure in that interview with Ruben, he mentioned playing with 2 x8’s and not having any 10’s or something similar

Haven’t read or watched it but that would make sense.

Crooks at least said in his interview for Tigers+ that he considers himself a number 8 or ‘box-to-box’ and has the physicality to do that role, even though he’s been played as a number 10 more often than not in recent years. Even Mehlem could play as a number 8. Ömür works hard off the ball but I’m still not sure. Palmer is a typical number 10 and don’t think he would suit playing as a number 8.

The way we play currently with Puerta and Slater is having two box-to-box players ahead of Alzate. It probably would suit Crooks but less so Palmer and Ömür.

Has Acun vanity signing/doing his Turkish mates a favour written all over that one.

No thanks

When I add Lincoln Henrique to the first post, shall I put that he’s a Fenerbahce cast off who we don’t need, or should I wait to see if he’s any good?

I mean, he’s played 24 games in the Brazilian top flight and 92 games it the Portuguese top flight and cost Fenerbahce a few million, so he can probably play a bit.

I reckon I should probably wait. <ok>

What do we do if Crooks won't accept an 18 month deal? He's played 31/34 games in the MLS this year and has consistently played around 40 league games a season year on year when in England. He's a pretty safe bet.

Lincoln plays primarily as a left winger or, in a pinch, up front.

It means we don't have to rely on Slater, Omur or anybody else who isn't actually a winger playing there and allows Kamara to switch to the right where he's more effective.

If the money is right, he's a great signing. At 26 he should be in his prime and a loan for him would mean that if a problem with his knee did reoccur, we aren't stiffed with the bill.

You might as well start the 2025 winter transfer window thread now and put him under outgoings.

He's played 50 games since his injury, you'd think it was probably ok.
