I don’t know how you say it’s a substantial upgrade on Mehlem. Mehlem is a decent player and got three assists in 16 league games. Crooks got four assists in almost twice as many games in a significantly worse league. I don’t think Mehlem has been allowed to leave because of his ability.
Getting on, last pay check, Blades loved Sharp, ex playing in USA... good back story... Championship experience... should I go on...
I'll forgive this signing if we get Puerta in full time and Zambrano is done in the summer. As it stands, were not exactly an attractive proposition, we have to ensure by the end of the season we are with 25/26 season in mind...
Because we're signing him from MLS. Just like Stater, Jones, Coyle etc will always be league 1 players in the eyes of some no matter how many championship seasons they play.

How old was Barmbs when he signed for us again?
31 in a few weeks. Pedro’s only 32 but people on here and on Twitter keep saying ‘imagine how good he’d be if he was five years younger’.
Seri was over 30 when we signed him, he was pretty good. Elphick came in on loan and was also effective, ditto Pedersen. We’ve focussed so much on young players this season, we’ve neglected the experience wise and it’s showing.

5 years ago he was almost topping serie a goalscoring charts

Crooks has shown hes capable of playing regularly
Slightly different, Barmby was 29/30 but he was also an ex England international and we got him from the Premier League while we were in League 1, was a fantastic signing for us. Probably one of my favourite ever players, loved seeing him play for us.
Edit: I actually like this signing as I’m not against signing older experienced players but the comparison to Barmby makes no sense.
