There is much talk of a mini clear out but a reality check.

Firstly what Championship side is going to come in for any of our players. Chances are zero

Secondly which of the players is going to opt to take a huge salary cut to move on a deal to the lower divisions, Chances are zero

Thirdly we could offer some of the current squad on loan but that would mean we pick up much of their current salary which is not much of a saving.

Fourthly we might try to get those whose contracts are up next year tom go out on a loan with option to buy as they are likely to understand they will be released at the end of this season and will then struggle to find a club.

We may be able to persuade some of the clubs to take back their players in January who are underperforming but that will mean the parent club will have to pick up the full wages for a player unlikely to get into their own squad. Why would they want to do that?

We all agree the last window recruitment was poor and most of us cannot believe any scout who saw most of them play has seen anything to recommend them. Whether Durban had anything to do with it is a question. Some of these players were recruited after he joined so it would be surprising if he did not have some involvement.

We are likely to be stuck with most of the current squad and this will limit opportunities to recruit. I hope i am totally wrong in my assumptions

Bedia, Rushworth, Burns and Zambrano would save us 20/30k a week on wages, dunno about loan fees.

Sell Omur 2/3 million possibly, just get Sinik off the wage bill. There’s 30k in wages saved.

Longman to go, 250k maybe, another 5k a week saving. Send Mehlem back to Germany. 100k and 5k a week on wages.

Cut the losses in Giles if we can 2 million, realistically a loan. Have to weigh this one up 15k a week off the wage bill.

Two keepers out on loan, Jacob, Vaughan and Jarvis. Maybe 5k a week saved there.

There I’ve saved you 90k and generated maybe 5 million in transfer fees. I’d say it’s doable, maybe not in the time allotted. If we want to stay up we need two wingers, a left back, a centre half, DMC and a striker.

6 players needed.

*Theiving Tan

and who hired and backed Tan? at some point we must realise that Acun isn't some naive child, he's the man at the top and should shoulder the blame as such.

He backed Shota and Tim, gave Liam a bumper contract and then sacked him a few months later. Tan may or may not have done whatever, but the bloke at the top calls the shots and it's all falling apart

It's probably destined to end in tears, not mine though as I've seen it before, and will likely see it again. We'll survive, then thrive. :emoticon-0138-think

I hope so, I'm fortunate that the Hull City that I've supported so far, has been (generally) on the up. It seems pretty bleak to me, but history suggests that hard times come and go for this football club and we'll be reet in the long term. Fingers crossed that continues <cheers>

He knows he messed up. Thankfully he has decent people around him now.

I don't think we've got another early 80s, most of the 90s scenario on our hands. Probably just tread water in league 1 for a bit

I think Rushworth and Zambrano will stay, Baz seems to think Rushworth won’t leave and we’ll possibly wait until Zambrano’s appeal is done and if his ban is reduced he’ll stay and we’ll sign him

I'm no expert(if you are, I apologise) but I think you're maybe underestimating these salaries by some margin?.Greg Docherty was on £9k a week and was surplus to requirements, deemed not good enough by the Club and most of the fans. The staff wage bill in the most recent accounts was just shy of £30 million, some of these players(loose description) are earning big bucks, not that you'd know that judging by our lowly League position.

I went on the low side to be fair.

That's how I see it too.Hopefully we're right. Others saying it'll end in tears but we'll be alright. I don't think we would be. I fear we would be absolutely screwed.
So here's hoping he's got it right this time (the team around him).
Jury's out for me but he needs to pray he's got the right team around him,he'll need to have?

It's not going to be easy enticing players to a relegation scrap, though I do think we've had some rotten luck arriving here in terms of players injured who were arguably our best chance of opening up defences.

Without stating the obvious

Assuming we go down, the summer and next season are likely to be the acid test as to where we, and Acun, are heading. Will he stay and continue to back us to get back up straight away, or will he decide enough is enough? And if he backs us, will we get the right players in for a league 1 promotion scrap?

Sounds easy doesn't it, alas given their form we'll be lucky to get any interest never mind getting money for them. A player is only worth what someone will pay, and I doubt they'd probably match the wage they're on. But we live in hope !

Beri Pardo I’m pretty sure was name dropped by Acun during the Tangate fallout as one of the staff members who would be stepping up into a bigger role.

We need to spend big in January to fix this **** show of a squad.
Not sure spending big is the answer, it hasn’t worked so far has it?
Stating the obvious, we need a couple of forwards, but having just read a BBC article, every team bar two or three in the championship want the same, so not sure we can get someone tried and tested who is gonna turn our season around.
Obviously need another winger, and then let Longman, Kamara and Burstow fight for some game time the other side.
Otherwise, No more expensive, fancy dans, we need some battle hardened additions, who know how to manage a game. Gary Brabin and Justin Whittle type who will rid us of that soft underbelly. Having those around will hopefully allow our own fancy dans to flourish.
