Yet he continues to appear.to be very popular within the squad? I doubt he would stay popular if he simply wasn't bothered and was taking the piss like some allude to.
I've lost patience with him too, at least as a solution to our LB problem. Give me Jacobs all day long now, at least he will get stuck in and give his all.
Maybe it's just that he's really a left wing back rather than a LB in a 4? Whatever, it just hasn't worked for him here.

He was great at Boro because Carrick played to his strengths. Basically said you continue to play essentially as a wing back and the rest of the back 4 will cover. I would argue it’s possible here with moving Hughes back to the left side as he’s pretty good at defending in space. Maybe Selles spots it as an option given our lack of wide options right now.

Theres no players that are not arsed or not bothered

Its just a lack of quality so far

Nail on head. He’s a wing back, he clearly can’t be arsed to defend and it shows. He doesn’t mind whipping in crosses though, they’ve been terrible for us too

Also Tim’s style really didn’t suit him.

Last season he popped up all over - this year as we bypassed the middle so much he couldn’t do that. It was either out wide or a long ball - both of which don’t suit him.

Wally's style didn't suit anyone

Blimey, if you think Giles’ effort is bit on the low side, strap in for Isaiah Jones - he’s allergic to tackling.

We won’t be playing Jones at full back if we do get him though, so people wouldn’t be quite as bothered if he’s a bit of a fanny when it comes to challenges. Full backs should still be able to get stuck in even if they’re attacking ones.

Doesn't stop Kamara, and plenty before him, getting (unfairly imo) slated.
If Jones really is allergic to tackling, he will soon become the next in a long line to get slated.

Never seen Kamara commit to a tackle yet. He too often waits for the ball to come to him rather than going to the ball. That's not slating him, just my honest opinion from what I've seen thus far

You missed him running back 60yds to make a tackle in his own box a couple of games ago then?

Apparently so <laugh>. That notwithstanding, I still see him as too lightweight and not moving towards the ball enough. However, in the circumstances he is the best we have in that position at the moment and we just have to hope he plays himself into form.

He certainly didn’t look it on Saturday. I wasn’t impressed by his first few appearances but thought he’d turned a corner after Walter left and he was given a free role but he was poor again at the weekend and you’d have expected him to be on it against his former club.

Palmer wasn't at his best against Cov but that's not a reason to drop him when he's been the only creative spark in recent weeks.

It would be making changes for changes' sake.
