indeed, he was the fastest City player I have ever seen Who was the bald bloke who played on the wing who would stoop over as he ran & always ended up falling over ?
What has Baz been telling James? We've currently signed 6 with Barry and a left back expected. Where have the other 2 come from?
It’s a shame because Ömür is a decent player and isn’t a shirking fanny like Giles. I don’t know why we signed Palmer to begin with and I said it at the time. Not a Walter player and not a Sellés one either. Too lazy off the ball to be a number 8. By the summer we could realistically have sold all of Ömür, Mehlem and Palmer which is insane.
What myth? Do you mean the people who said the squad underperformed under Walter and would do better under selles? And then proceeded to do exactly that?
I've always liked Omur, like you say it's not a question of ability, I just don't think he's the kind of player Selles wants and he seems the type of manager who doesn't have passengers in his squad. Same with Sinik, really. He's a good player, he's just got bones like biscuit. I think he'll retire early, I can't see him playing into his late 30s.
Apologies if I’ve confused you with another poster but I swear you said a few weeks ago that Sellés does rate Ömür. Paderborn have an option to buy Mehlem and he’s done well in his first two games there so hopefully that’s sorted by early summer. Doubt we’ll shift Palmer this window as he’s currently injured and already played for two clubs in England.
Yeah, I can understand that, but he's a bit like Koren or Geovanni. When the team plays badly, he goes missing. When the team plays well, he looks electric. He joined a team pushing for the playoffs and was full of confidence. This season we've been largely **** and he's not shown his quality. Selles wants players who can take a game by the scruff and change it, not players who are only useful when we are winning.
I think we have been pretty unlucky with injuries. Particularly two ACL injuries to two of our best players. Some of the signings were just completely random and unnecessary.
And even with that our core was better than rock bottom. As they showed when a decent manager came in. Blackburn and Millwall wins achieved with essentially no new players starting.
I did, but that was before we got Crooks and Gelhardt in. I may have heard wrong and at the time there wasn't any sign of him leaving (he's been injured for a lot of the games Selles has been here), and in a straight choice I think he'd choose Omur over Palmer if it was down to pure ability. Having looked at the kind of players he's bringing in, I'm not sure if Omur is the right fit.
